The 2003 show is Closest to the Comics but I'll admit The 2012 show is my Favourite! And yes I agree with you about The Old Times Comic
  • I just realised the 2012 animation is full of comics references

Am I the only one,who wants an R-rated TMNT movie based on the dark and gritty 80's comics?I'm Not a fan of kid friendly take of this series

Attack on the Technodrome was certainly beyond heartbreaking. I remember when it first came out a few years ago and the internet literally broke a bit. Everyone wouldnt stop talking about it. As soon as I got to Donnie's death, I teared up. Why is it always Donnie getting the most unfortunate events??

I actually own an original copy of "Usagi Yojimbo #10" as part of my comic book collection! :D

Now Donnie knows how Jason Todd feels when Joker tortured him with a crowbar.
  • I've read Donnie's death comic and man it was sad but what really struck me in IDW Comics is when they killed off Slash. That sh*t was morbid...

I love both the 2003 and 2012 versions of TMNT!!! My favorite character is the 2012 Karai, AKA Hamato Miwa.
  • The 2003 series was a great adaptation of the original comics. The 2012 series is awesome too, in that it pays homage to every incarnation that has come before (ie. cartoons, movies, comics). Gotta love how the ending of the intro to the 2012 series is a direct homage to the cover of TMNT #1. I legit freaked when i first saw that.
  • why isn't TMNT 87 and TMNT 2003 animated series on Hulu or Netflix?
  • The team-ups with Batman and the more recent team up with the Power Rangers were really good.
  • I've never thought about investing in the TMNT comics till this video. Thanks WatchMojo

As someone that grew up on the original 1987 cartoon (I was 5 when the five-part mini-series premiered in December 1987), I initially didn't want to give the 2003 series a chance, because it wasn't my childhood. But I inadvertently watched one episode of the 2003 series and later, fished out an old TMNT comic I had and realized the 2003 cartoon was a more close representation of the original 1984 graphic novels. I then gave it a chance and will now proudly stand behind that the 2003 series is far better than the 1987 series (which, honestly, hasn't aged well). To top it off, I later got the 25th Anniversary Volume 1 (issues 1-11, plus the four one-shots and Fugitoid issue) as well as Volume 3 (Return to New York) and Volumes 4-5 (City at War). Even though #1 was where it started, City at War will forever be my favorite story arc. It's 13 issues for cryin' out loud!
