  • Simon, if you strapped all those detectors side by side and attached them onto a seed sower on the back of a tractor, you could detect a 10 acre field in 30 minutes. You'd have to rig up a speaker inside the tractor cabin to the headphone out sockets of the detectors.😂😂 Woohoo!! Coins by the bucketload. Kevin

Si, that was great that you did that for all those people. What a way to get people into the hobby of metal detecting. The smiles on everyone's faces where excellent and when you gave away detectors to those people, it was priceless. I thought that older man was going to cry, he was so happy!

All credit to you for supplying the detectors and batteries, as well as your friend for fixing those in need, and then spending the day helping and encouraging so many people. Proper generous.

This was really a very nice event, Simon, and a great thing to do for the kids as well as the seniors. There will be a special place in heaven for you, my friend!
  • @TaraFinlay
I enjoy all your mudventures but I really found this video to be especially joyful, knowing how I would feel if I could be there with you all. What a great thing to do Si. Fun for young and old and everyone in between!!!
  • This was spectacular. So wonderful to see so many people out and enjoying the beautiful day getting some 'luck in the muck'. You are a generous, kind person Si. Keep it up. I love watching from Canada.

Oh my gosh, Si. It looks like you all had a great day! Wish I could have been there. You are so kind giving so many people a lovely day and giving some of the detectors to others. I thought the one guy was going to get a bit emotional. Thanks for sharing this glorious day with the fans who could not make it. I love how many kids came and had fun. I wish more parents here in the US would get their children involved in wholesome outdoor fun and get them away from the phone, computer and gaming station screens now and then. Green with envy, 💚, but also filled with love for all the special moments you made. Can't wait to see the lamp made from one of those old detectors. 😊
  • Now this is going be fun! My dad use to take us metal detecting. I wish you the best my friend. You’re my fave on YouTube.!!! Much love and respect from Oregon🌲🙏🏼👍🏻💪🏼🥰

What a fun, generous idea! I'm an amateur astronomer, and I've donated telescopes, both old ones I've fixed up and some made by me, to give away as attractions to public viewing events. It's a great feeling to see the excitement in people's eyes when they get something to take home to use again and again. Well done, Si! And I think the next time you do an event like this, it should be along the Mississippi River near La Crosse, Wisconsin. To be serious, though, I would love to try detecting, but could never afford a new machine. I'd be grateful if you, or anyone here in the comments, could recommend an old, used machine to look for. You showed here that they work, but some must be better, and more rugged, than others. Or maybe someone knows of a good video or Youtuber to watch for a history/guide to detecting. I'd be fascinated to watch that, even if I don't end up ever getting one. I'll go looking online myself for this, but I don't know enough to know if what I find on my own will be reliable. This really was great fun!😄
