  • "what about Alexander?" Worf: "Haven't paid any attention to him for the last ten years, why start now?"
  • "All he ever drinks is prune juice." -A warrior's drink!
  • So glad Worf came back for DS9 he seemed right at home.

Worf's self doubt was always a key part of why he was such a good officer. He always wanted to do the best thing even when he didn't know what to do. Sisko bringing out self confidence in Worf was a fantastic thing to see
  • One of the things I love about this scene is that it really shows off Marc Alaimo's ability to make Dukat sound like Garak - they share speech patterns, vocabulary, etc. It makes it feel as though Cardassians share a common culture. I think Alaimo and Robinson pulled this off really well - they allowed Dukat and Garak to be very much their own characters, but also gave them a common template to draw from so viewers never forgot they were of the same race.
  • "Is something wrong Mr. Worf?" "Yeah the computers around here are beeping like crazy"

The way that Dukat says "Seemed like a good idea at the time" 🤣
  • I love the brief moments when Dukat lets the mask slip, drops all the pretense about Cardassia and patriotism and good intentions and lets you know he's just a cynical, self-interested sociopath.
  • Dukat was fascinating because he was intensely proud but also intensely needy; he wanted to be adored by the people he was oppressing, and he opens up to Sisko and Kira a LOT. He admitted he switched sides and that it wasn't as good an idea as he thought it was. Who would admit that to an enemy?
  • Come to Quark's, Quark's is fun, come right now, don't walk run
  • "I have never been on a Federation starship that had a (permanent) cloaking device."
  • To those saying that there's a script mistake in Worf saying he's never been on a ship with a cloaking device, it's likely not a mistake. While the Enterprise used a Cloaking Device in The Pegasus, it was illegally obtained, and the crew likely had to sign an NDA so that word about that cloaking device would never leave the confines of Starfleet security.
  • Sisko: "Set a course. Maximum warp." Worf (Jumps to his feet): "I will kill you where you stand!" Sisko: "I said maximum warp, not maximum Worf." Worf (sits down): "I apologize, sir."
  • 4:27 Sisko : “And lay off the coffee, ensign. You’re eyes are freaking me out!”
  • I just wanted to note how much I loved the way they developed the friendship between Worf and O'Brien on this show. That the two were friends was sometimes hinted at on TNG but they really became friends on DS9, albeit not even remotely as close as O'Brien and Bashir.
  • "And what about your son?" "My what? Oh, yeah... I had one of those..."
  • Worf: "It's just, I have never been aboard a Federation starship with a cloaking device" Everybody screaming at their TV: "Pegasus"
  • There’s a certain parallel between Sisko and Worf. Both started this series wanting/needing to be out of the uniform, but wound up staying

I'm going to try and put this to bed so bare with me. The writers didn't screw up, Worf lied. The Enterprise used a cloaking device to pass through solid rock after the same device malfunctioned and killed the USS Pegasus' crew. Along with the rest of the Enterprise, Worf was sworn to secrecy regarding the project, so when Sisco asks him "is everything alright" his immediate response was "yes." Knowing Sisco won't buy this, he contradicts himself before Sisko has the chance and tries to cover his unease with a false truth. I think a previous comment said it best. "I've never been on a federation ship with a (safe) cloaking device."

Sisko: "Forget the speech, Dukat..." Dukat: "You do understand, and grasp the importance of monologue and soliloquy in Cardassian culture, and to stymie a good speech well-spoken is..." Sisko: "All right, we're going home. Let the Klingons have 'em."
