I’m homeless this year (I currently live in a homeless shelter kind of rehabilitation type campus to get people back on their feet) and seeing thankmas come around this year really hits harder seeing so much money getting raised by someone using a platform they worked for and gained to then resourcing it for good to people who really need help I’ve seen so many families with small small children here and it’s very eye opening and disheartening to see so many families actually going through ur same struggles if not worse all in one location and made me realize even while living here how fortunate I am to have the things I still have here as well like make up, extra stuffed animals, and an iPad to watch a video like this on lmao Being homeless really shows who will actually help you in ur life and who won’t and how difficult it is to actually get any help at all and fundraisers like thankmas really do make getting help more accessible and I hope more come to light in the future and follow in its footsteps or walk along side it
