The Upper East Side of Manhattan NYC is one of the five major areas that I go over in my Manhattan series. Also known in textspeak as UES, this portion of New York City has a good amount of art and culture. In this video, we will talk about the area as a whole, explain the streets and neighborhoods, and skittle in some facts. Whether you are visiting New York, new to NYC, or a local who's been here for awhile, I hope you enjoy this city and learn something new.

I lived in Yorkville for 23 years and you're correct that it's not a "happening party place." I was a regular at a couple of good bars there, but for concerts and other events I usually go downtown. If you're a fitness or nature buff, the close proximity to Central Park is a big plus. In fact, that's the only thing I miss about living there. Central Park was virtually my backyard.

I just came back from NYC (10 days vacation there). I wish I had seen your videos beforehand. I’m going through your videos and it’s very well written hitting all the important highlights. So much detail in a somewhat short video. I actually spend a few days in upper east side!

I like the efforts and skits you put in! I heard the UES is more residential and relative more quiet than other neighborhood

We lived on 72nd and 1st and it was a quiet neighbood with lots of things to do and lots of places to dine and shop. The best of it was that you could go and have fun all around Manhattan and then come home to a pretty quiet area. Very pricey but safe.
  • Lex, Park then Madison. I was born and raised in Yorkville, Only when you get to Park Madison and 5th is it Silk Stocking.
