Lynnwood police arrest woman for 'elaborate' gift card fraud scheme

The 28-year-old woman is believed to be the mastermind of an “elaborate” gift card fraud scheme. She was arrested at an apartment in the 14600 block of 179th Avenue SE in Monroe.
According to detectives, the woman deprived hundreds of victims of their gift card balances. During their investigation, they said one business estimated a loss of nearly $100,000 to their business and customers.
When authorities searched her residence they located several stolen firearms, a credit card embosser, tools used to credit fake checks, and about one pound of illegal drugs. Authorities also seized approximately $40,000 in cash.
