    😮Dax comes off a bit condescending here (not his fault, but of the people that told him stuff). So as someone who was born and raised in an Indian city and is now living in the US, let me set some context - In all parts of the country, it is unsafe to drink tap water. However, almost every household in Indian cities have electronic water purifiers installed. So if you go to somebody's house in India, absolutely drink the water they offer. It is probably much more purified than what comes from the Brita filter in the US. Also, the vegetables don't come pre-washed in India, unlike grocery stores in the US. However, literally every household in India washes the vegetables clean before cooking/serving. Don't eat vegetables off the shelf of a grocery store for sure but please don't make a mockery of your Indian host by refusing to eat if they offer you vegetables.
