What a great podcast guest to open this journey with. I can 1000% relate to this. I was born and raised in Detroit with a mom that came from Korea and didn’t know anything about this country and a dad that suffered from drugs and alcoholism. He passed at the age of 50 and was absent from my life. But after his passing I was older and finally understood him and what he was going through, I forgave him and most importantly forgave myself from holding so much animosity. It totally changed my outlook on life 😊

I think that most people don’t realize that their childhood isn’t normal to therapists. But there are probably more people who are the”normal “ of coming from a home that’s has turmoil. Amazing podcast. Keep up the amazing work!

I was literally asking myself why I kept dating the same type of man, (a week ago), and it took me listening to Katey to figure out the reason. WOW. I wasn't sure what I was going to get out of this podcast, out of the gate worth its weight in gold, better yet, YEARS of therapy, free of charge. No joke. Loved the show! Thank you for sharing so openly. It’s wonderful to get to know you as people, learning how you deal with the same human struggles as us non-celebs. Healing from childhood traumas & -isms, becoming better humans. Listening to the episode sparked so many insights of my own (great journaling!). Feeling empathy for others & reminding me that i can get caught up in my intentions & perceptions of situations/interactions. It’s so important to try to see it from other’s & other perspectives.
