  • @meeperbird
This is like watching Monica helping Phoebe redecorate.
  • This video is another example of why I just love your channel. You embrace reality. Most people don't have brand-stuff and are on a strict budget. You understand and embrace that. More like this!
  • @cris_tamay
Aaah please more videos like this! This is the type of content that's needed out there, people teaching that you can have a beautiful and useful home without buying new things! And actually it's more challenging than going to a store and buy a bunch of unnecessary decor useless pieces and baskets. Amazing job Caroline!
  • I really love that this is a "micro makeover" that takes the existing space, furniture, and items, and just reorganizes it to make SUCH a big difference... it goes to show you dont NEED to give into overconsumption to transform a space!!!
  • Paraphrasing what you said …. β€œIt’s your life. You’re not doing it wrong. Lean into it.” Caroline. You are the dearest woman. I’m convinced you are helping so many people heal from all sorts of Things just with how you Be. This was so much fun !! I love this so much. That nook …. Come on!! We all want to curl up in that nook. Thank you, Julia, for opening up your home for us to come along for the ride. And yes, she is YOUR big sister β€” thank you for letting us borrow her from time to time ❀
  • @dogmama4444
Their voices and mannerisms are the same β€” it’s so adorable!!! I love the sibling energy!!!
  • @UndinesOcean
This weekend, i followed your advice and cleared out the whole living room and by the end of that, I was too exhausted to move to the next step. The room is empty, so I could not watch Netflix for two evenings in a row, which meant that I finally went to my bedroom early and slept before 10pm. Life changing! I might keep it like this for a while. πŸ˜‚ My conclusion: a too cozy living room would keep me entertained, awake and snacking for the whole night.
  • First, fluffing and rotating pillows are perfection. I fluff daily to refresh my rooms. The small table is genius, others sometimes don't see it but let's be honest, new ideas always take a while to accept. The best advice is to keep things where you use them, just make them look pretty when you do. That encourages us to put things away to keep it looking great AND it is easy!!

I know this was a throw away line about decor but "this is your life and you're not doing it wrong" was actually so healing to hear :)
  • Is literally everyone in the Winkler family artistically gifted??????

Had a happy accident this morning when I clicked on "my new favorite channel". Three gorgeous girls having fun making over this beautiful space without spending any money on generic box store goods that make every apartment look like it was bought in one trip to the store. Your room says love. It's full of personal items that have some meaning to you. You did a terrific job of taking this room to it's highest potential. It's completely warm, inviting, interesting and delightful. Just like you three. I have never heard so many spoken words in such a short time. Wow ! Tip .... Place a strip of foam in the crevice when you have an unruly slip cover, it will keep it firmly in place. One small critic..... I was thrilled with how you hung the artwork in the nook. Artwork should always be hung with relevance to the surrounding furniture and you did a great job.(So many people hang it at eye level, WHEN THEY ARE STANDING UP ^#@%) But then what happened ? ? You did just that over the sofa. HELP ! Those pictures need to come down at least four or maybe five inches. They look so disconnected from the sofa. ( Please forgive this tiny critic, it's just my number one decorating peeve and I couldn't help my self, I just HAD to say it. ) Thanks for a delightful half hour. I look forward to watching the rest of your channel and getting to know you better.
  • Yessss I’m glad you continued this kind of stuff! Pimping people’s places with no extra buying! I learn so much!
  • @labibliobecca
nothing is more in tune with the current cost of living crisis than these $0 makeovers and it's so inspiring and comforting to see what a difference decluttering and rearranging makes! you can tell julia adores you by how your mannerisms are so similar - she has been looking up to you for her whole life! great job with the vid, love the nook and the cool and warm tones. your channel has been extra exquisite lately.
  • @juliagoolia72
I love the freedom you give people to be maximalist and eclectic. So much of this space is beige and minimal. 10 piece capsule wardrobes where blush is considered a β€œpop” of colour. Bare counters with a single concrete vase holding one twig. It’s lovely for some, but the rest of us have stuff and ephemera. This room embraces your sister’s quirks and habits and helps her stay true to her.
  • I LOVE this realistic, intentional, consumerism-free makeover so much, these videos are great. I especially loved what you said about how having to declutter isn't a failure, it's part of a working system. That mindset switch is so helpful.
  • @caleyroe7095
As a girlie with ADHD and eclectic style - I found this video really helpful and reassuring how you walked us through the process, explained your reasoning and tailored it to your sister and her exact needs! Best big sister ever!!!
  • @colinneagle4495
What kind of miracle has occurred in the Winkler family to create four siblings who all seem to genuinely like each other, enjoy their time together, have in-jokes and references and lovingly roast each other but never so much that it might hurt anyone’s feelings. I don't think I know a single sibling relationship that's better than "begrudgingly tolerate" so I am completely bowled over. Like, please teach me this magic.
  • @n.normal1565
the reading nook is giving 90s so hard that the Friends theme song just started playing in my head
  • @BestBBQ1
I was looking at design books in the early '70s when I was a little kid. One thing they all had in common at the time was the use of reading nooks. Most rooms needed to have one. That resonated with me even then and 10-year old me would constantly rearrange my bedroom to maximize the placement of that all-important nook. I've always tried to have one since then and always get a little jazzed when I see one created. Add that to working with what Julia had and didn't bring in anything new makes the whole thing really personal and that's lovely to see.
