As the city of Mumbai, India, bakes in an extreme heatwave in 2024, how does where one lives impact one’s capacity to cope? In the suburb of Bandra, the affluent live side by side with residents of the slums. We find out how successful entrepreneurs Shraddha and Raghav, as well as auto rickshaw rider Feroz and his family, deal with the extreme heat.

Can one NGO’s roof initiative help slum dwellers, who have no access to air conditioning or expensive home retrofits, deal with extreme heatwaves forecasted in the years ahead? Vivek Gilani of the Fairconditioning Foundation talks about the solutions needed.

  • They did the rich couple dirty. The couple probably thought, they were doing a profile on them but instead they are going to be roasted forever.😂
  • The Rickshaw driver hats of to him he gives it all 15 hour days leaves him shattered but he never gives up he wants what’s right for his children

The Rickshaw driver's family and emotions are so authentic. They seem to be contented and make the best of their situation amidst all the troubles they face. They are a true inspiration for all of us that whine about minor inconveniences.
  • @heizingberg
This video is an eye opener. Every time I whine about luxuries I can not afford, the rickshaw drivers' struggles will bring me down to earth with a thud.
  • Can we take a moment to appreciate what a lovely person Firoz the rickshaw driver is... ❤
  • @kevinxing
The rickshaw driver has a loving wife. That should be every mans goal.
  • @Isxiros100
What a humble little family the rickshaw driver has. Even with all the struggle he is still thankful and appreciative.
  • @amaitra
The rickshaw wala is authentic - there is genuine happiness in his life - in spite of his condition.Improving their lives should be the city's top priority - wipe eery tear from eevry eye!

God bless Vivek Gilani and give him the strength and good health to continue helping those living in bad conditions. He made a great point that human rights should extend to be able to avoid extreme heat. Don't know how practical it is, but a nice thought.

I don’t want to hate on the rich lady for being rich but the way she takes care of her fish and the way she talks I just know she’s a bit ignorant
  • @lievetessa
The rich lady is really sweet, I'm sorry that they get grilled because of this video. Of course they are very lucky to be living a life like this. It's not their fault that there are also many living in poverty in their country. And we don't know what else they might do as charity or kind acts etc.

Really loving to see Feroze & his wife taking care each other happiness & comfort & rejoicing together despite all the harships of life. Huge respect for such hardworking families❤. At 16:00, what he is saying is exactly the same I experience often, coming late from office, seeing my kids sleeping most of the time. But just looking at their innocent & satisfied faces, took all of my day fatigue away & makes me feel like the day just started ❤

I absolutely love the documentary!! I am from Mumbai, the income inequality is mind numbing!! People are dying of heat strokes and elites are living in AC rooms as if nothing wrong is going one!
  • @Maria_Malik786
Eye opening contrast between both the worlds , seeing is believing or knowing at a different level . Kudos to Mr.Gilani and his organisation for the mitigating efforts for the slum dwellers ❤.
  • Istrinya Feroz benar benar istri idaman. Penyayang, perhatian, dan pekerja keras. Kalo istrinya si kaya gesture dan mukanya ngeselin, tipikal orang kayak yg gak suka berbagi. Buat mister Nggilani, semoga project nya berhasil dan membantu sebanyak banyaknya org yg membutuhkan.
  • If they’d have me, I’d love to spend the day with Feroz and his lovely family.

The extreme end of the rich and the poor lifestyle in India. The extreme heatwave "kills" the poor while the rich enjoys the pool. Who says life is fair?
