Too portly, too big, too gimmicky, too…well, everything. Adventure bikes have gotten out of hand. Yamaha wants to change that by offering something just right - nothing more, nothing less.

This review really shows how shallow other reviews are compared to F9. Everyone else are just reading spec sheets, while having absolutely no clue. This review contains more information than all other Tenere 700 "reviews" combined.

I feel like everyone at Yamaha was waiting for this, and several engineers have just popped champagne bottles watching it.

I have a T7, and he’s right on all points. Great bike on and off road. Geared a bit high for highway use, but it’ll do 80 mph no problem. Around town the drivetrain whiplash is severe due to the chain tension variance but it’s still tolerable. It is slightly top heavy but also not a real issue. And the bike is so simple that you don’t have any panic attacks about going to the middle of nowhere 100’s of miles from anything because you can actually fix any issue there is yourself. It even has tubed tires, so even if you bend a rim you can still repair or replace a tube (as much of a pain as that is) and keep going. There are no fancy electronics to break, just ABS which works very well, and the brakes are a bit soft but that’s actually a good thing off road for this bike. The seat is too stiff though. I went on a long trip and my butt and ummm… taint… were in pain.

The incredibly high-quality of these videos is only rivaled by the amount of information they contain. I love this channel.
  • Imagine being a Yamaha engineer and screaming at the screen YES FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS IT HE GETS WHAT WE DID
  • @brunorider2505
Jaw dropping imagery and info on the bike that I didn't see in any of the other 3000 videos about the T7. You did it again. Cheers.

Its hard to describe how incredible this channel is. Everything is perfect. Technical knowledge about bikes, humor, cinematography, sound, script. I can safely say that this is one of the best channels on YouTube, and I don’t say that lightly. Cheers from Switzerland.

430 miles on my t7 in 3 days and it’s everything I thought it was going to be and more. The bike is amazing period.
  • Still ForNine’s own style on reviewing bikes. It always looks like a movie. Excellent.

This guy explain mechanical concepts so well that even I can understand them!

This is one of the most professionally filmed, edited and narrated videos I have ever seen on YouTube. Simply astonishing production values seen here. Job very well done,FortNine. Yea,I like the bike too.

Love the cinematics and ABSOLUTELY LOVE the information you're providing us with in this video. Watched a lot of other videos regarding this motorcycle, and they all had no idea why this bike was top heavy. But FortNine did it again. Providing us with informative and very entertaining content. Kudos, bros!

I haven't heard a single reviewer talk about the high front-sprocket and squat vs anti squat except this channel. Yamaha didn't even bother to "market" this. Japanese engineering ftw.

I would like to file a complaint against YouTube for only giving me this notification an entire 17 minutes after upload
  • @northernandyboy
The long drawn out intro was worth the wait. No one gives it more straight than Ryan while providing a good laugh. Thanks mate!
  • @rahult13
Just stumbled across this. What outstanding editing and production value! Best I’ve seen so far from serious bike/auto reviewers. And of course, that technical analysis. Btw, is that really his voice cos it sounds straight off a commercial 🙂 Great stuff. Subscribed.
  • @paintballertw
I don't think Yamaha could have gotten a bigger endorsement even if they paid for it.
  • @rabiekhali8351
When R9 is impressed by a bike, you know they did a damn good job.
  • @John-dd7ez
Love your channel. Can’t believe how well produced and presented it is. Being from the UK you wouldn’t believe how jealous I am of all your wide open spaces and unpaved roads. Keep up the fabulous work.

If I'd use a Tenere 700 for serious off-road riding, meaning climbing rocks and logs like in the beginning of the video, I would be worried about the suspension linkage. No problem with the 790/890, it does not need any complicated linkage system!
