BBC Choral Evensong: RSCM at St Paul's, 1953 (Wright)

BBC Choral Evensong broadcast on the 25 August 1953. For two weeks in the summer holidays a choir of boys and young men from RSCM affiliated choirs sang the services, and boarded in the choir school, at St Paul's Cathedral. Edred Wright was the choirmaster for the course and Gerald H Knight the organist. The photograph is the official RSCM Course photo taken outside the Choir School.

The broadcast was archived on three 12" 78rpm transcription discs, digitised and restored by the Archive.

    Did an RSCM course when I was 8. I now sing opera. We did not deserve Sir Sidney.
