About Archive of Recorded Church Music

We seek to preserve this unique and priceless heritage of recordings from choirs of gentlemen and boys singing in the English Cathedral Tradition. The first gramophone record by a choir was issued in 1902 and the Archive (the largest of its kind in the world) collects recordings up to the present day.

We are delighted that the ArchivesofSound YouTube channel, which is dedicated to Barry Rose's time at Guildford Cathedral, is now under the aegis of the Archive of Record Church Music.

Our website gives comprehensive in-depth information about the Archive, together with a guide to our online presence.
