Orc armies and human armies clash in an epic battle in a mountain valley. The orcs possess a discrete numerical advantage, but humans can count on an army veteran compound with the best units dunedain.

In the sunset the fate of the battle will be done in better or worse.

Soundtrack used: Heart of Courage, The strenght of thousand man, everlasting, the protector of the heart

3 years later and still one of my all time favorite cinematic battles

Crazy how far this mod has come with DAC, MOS, and Reforged. This came up on my recommended and brought back so many memories of wanting to play this before I had a PC.
  • Love you ElSamuele, you are the reason so many of us got into Third Age and the total war series in general. I can remember how astonished I was when I first saw your videos and they are the reason I found a game I love so much to this day. You are a 10/10 youtuber for that reason alone and for that I would gladly buy you a beer. Cheers!

Imagine how shitty it would be to get shot with an arrow before the battle even starts

Nice camera work and music choice. Never can go wrong with Two Steps From Hell. For those complaining about some Gondorian units in the Dunedain army, you have to go with what the mod gives you. Besides, Dunedain means 'man of the west', which includes northern (Arnor) and southern (Gondor) nations descended from Numenor (Westernesse).
  • 2:07 "Like a black tide they came from over the hill..." 2:09 - 2:30 "To oppose this black tide came a wave of silver and green, the Dunedain. From all towns they had come: From Bree came guardians of Greenway, led by the Dunedain Swordmasters who had come from all over Beleriand. And from Annuminas came Warriors as if from forgotten memories: The Royal Knights of Annuminas, the Dunedain elite, a silver line of the wave..." 2:40 - 2:45 "In await for the onslaught, the Dunedain halted on a small hill, looking over the many Orcs -- of which not few were the feared Uruks --approaching. As they waited, they could hear the Black Speech screaming of war, coming off their foul mouths." 2:50 "As was years before predicted: 'The battle for Middle-Earth has begun'. And today was one of those battles. Its outcome would stall the Darkness...or it would ever more lengthen." 4:42 - 14:20 "It was at that moment, when our hearts were eager, our swords light in the hands and our comrades side-by-side, that we, the Dunedain wave moved to oppose the wave of darkness: The battle has begun!" (throughout the battle: 5:56 - 14:00 ) "Long the battle seemed, and neither side seemed to gain progress. The Uruks wreaked havoc with their ferocity and great blades, though the Dunedain Swordmasters and Knights of Annuminas were one of the few who could long resist them. It was when the Uruk-Hai with their armour who nearly seemed to turn the tide into a dark one. It was when the lines of Dunedain were close to falling apart, when everything changed: Our cavalry had defeated the Wargs and had made the decisive blow from behind enemy lines. The lesser Orcs, yes, even the lesser Uruks soon routed. It was the Uruk-Hai, the most loyal to their commander, who fought on to death. Yet it was their commander who fled before they did, and with him went his body-guard; hand-chosen Evil humans in thick plate-armour. Far they did not come, however. 14:21 - end And when, finally, the last standing Orc was slain, we celebrated at our great triumph! The dark wave was vanished. Our lands were once more safe."

Great camera work and nice video. The only thing is that the orcs had no chance, like the description led me to believe.
  • @futbolluva
That was no rabble of mindless orcs. Those were Uruk-hai. Their armor was thick and their shields broad.

You chose the right soundtrack for this. Two Steps from Hell. Another track you could have included was United We Stand - Divided We Fall.
  • @Poita
Extremely well edited. A lot of youtubers and even movie makes could learn much from this video. It doesn't rely on rapid cuts that imply action rather than show action and it takes time to show the shooting of missiles and also the armies experience of being on the receiving end of the same.
