Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2010 | The proud spirit of the Norwegian people shines in every dimension of their capital city — from its once-fearsome Viking ships to its sleek new Opera House, from a fun folk museum that keeps traditions alive to the constant festival of its thriving harborfront. Connecting with the culture, we enjoy art — from Vigeland's statues to Munch's scream — and join local friends for a boat ride on their fjord. #ricksteves #ricksteveseurope #oslo

I'm from Oslo, and can testify to the accuracy of the content. Mr. Rick Steves' research skills is unparalleled.
  • Got into him recently. What an intelligent and interesting man. The best travel shows I've ever seen.
  • The rail journey from Oslo to Bergan and back is quite something.
  • Thank you for the memories. I lived in Oslo for three years in the 70's.... My son was born there. How much it's changed! But the best thing were the people! I'm still corresponding with the first person I met there! Oslo it's definitely a "MUST SEE" Really Norway is a must see. Most beautiful county and cleanest... Thanks again.

7:52 “... to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus NOT discovering America”. Love it.

"...and I have a cousin here who owns a boat." Rick must have found a genie's bottle on his travels for he certainly has a charmed life.
  • I have became a fan of Rick Steve .... You have been showing me entire Europe, I don't have money to travel overseas but you are fulfilling some of my dreams. Thank you Rick.

I've never been to Europe, but Oslo seems like a nice place. I like how Norwegians have a sense of social responsibility and how they have universal healthcare. I also like how Oslo invests heavily in mass transit unlike many cities here in the U.S. People love their cars too much here in the U.S., and the traffic here is very bad.
  • humble und peacful place. i like your channel mr. rick. you are comfortable. i hv many vikings friends since my time in American uni. i was in Denmark many months last year.locked down from Flensborg to Kolding. wt my german friends. my neighbour now is a Norwegian traveller. stucked here many months now. im seeing him again today to hv coffee in my river haus. He is comfortable here making tons of friends. many europeans migrated to Malaysia. we evn hv portugese city.. french city. Malaysia welcome people. we are refugees heaven
  • That makes such good sense; Americans are faced with perils and worries from medical bankruptcies and facing old age in poverty. We have a ghastly inadequate system that is greatly in need of reform.🗽 Let Norway lead the way!🌄👑
  • Nice film about Oslo.I've been living there for 25 years.Very nice city with a rich cultural life. And friendly people. And a rich music scene.

Went to Oslo by acciddent in 2017 and fell in love with this city.
  • For all that Oslo is large it still manages feel much smaller. I was so impressed how clean, friendly and safe Oslo. It is a walkers’ paradise. It’s also easy to get around.

I'm from N. Dakota/Minnesota and have German blood line. I am 60+ years old and I have very few times had a overwhelming emotion like this one being Norway feels like home...I don't know. Thanks.
