Trish Carden and Mark Farr on Marauder Miniatures

Published 2024-07-18
I popped over to see Trish Garden and Mark Farr to hear them chatting about their time operating as Marauder Miniatures. A really wonderful period in GW's history, it was great to hear their comments - especially on Marauder putting its stamp on future editions of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. The pair of them also treated me to an impressive display of their collections of Marauder Miniatures and also the mug!

  • What a wonderful interview. It’s great to hear from Trish. Some of these models really bring back the happy times in my youth collecting and painting. Thank you for sharing here on YouTube.
  • The orc shaman on wyvern is my all time favourite miniature. I was so pleased it had that recent re-release for The Old World.
  • Marauder made some of the best minis for warhammer. They had so much character

Very nice insight. I painted the Marauder giant this year as my 2,000th mini. :D

Aly and Trish designed the majority of my favorite miniatures. I think it’s widely known that I am a great fan of their dark elves. A range with so many iconic miniatures. Marauder miniatures as well as the art of this era from Mark Gibbons, Des Hanley, etc share this fine dark humor before this was replaced with the grim dark by the dawn of the 6th WHFB edition. A great era which lives on in my memories and in my cabinets. Thanks Tom for this wonderful trip in this fantastic era. Cheers, Georg

Marauder were soooo much better than Citadel back then. Almost all my favourites were Marauder.
  • Trish says times change but she's hardly changed at all. I never realised how many of my favourite minis were Marauder.

The Marauder minis always felt like the superior range. Those large hard plastic blister boxes with the slide of back were awesome. The minis were clearer in design and so good compared to a lot of the Citadel sculpts at the time.

Another great interview. Marauder defines my childhood
  • Yees! This is so great, I'm working on an article on the history of Marauder Miniatures so I'm sure this will be really helpful! I already got some answers from Trish, but more is always better. Thank you Tom for another banger video!

This video explains well how comes Marauder made the best WFB minis. I love the classic Marauder Dark Elves and the Treemen.
  • @phasestar7787
Marauder were the best minis, still have them and agree that their character, individuality and fun was on its own level.

I collect and paint figures from this period and I'm here to say how well Marauder miniatures did at completing citadel. One great example - plastic shields the GW ones are flat, lack detail and hard to work with. The Marauder ones were curved and had great motifs moulded on.

The dwarfs that they produced were some of the best. I still own many of them❤️❤️❤️
  • @JonMidtan
I keep saying it. But this is some of the best content I've seen on YT. Your contacts are incredible. Thank you for sharing with us.

I had sooooo much fun painting these. Still have some unpainted. Would love to have even more. Esp the Dark Elves who had an exotic look.
