  • Misty, why not cut the orange peels directly out of the heart shapes and then you would have the orange peels in another project and you wouldn’t need to worry about the colour of the heart showing through?
  • So cute, do the hearts in green, orange peal in a lighter green and you have a shamrock for st. Patricks day!! 😂🤣. Hi Misty, from Manitoba. Canada.. ❤
  • I recommend using parchment paper to protect your ironing mat when fusing the adhesive.

Don't throw away the rest of the square after you cut out the heart. You can use it to make another project. If you have some fabric that you want to fussy cut, you can use the square to frame it and make another small quilt. A 6 x 7 arrangement with borders would make a nice size throw or baby quilt.
  • I would have trimmed the edges off the charm, moved the heart up a tiny bit, cut the orange peel out of the heart. That way you could use the outer frame and the orange peel in another block. That way there truly would be no waste, but a little more appliqué and have a second quilt.

If you are custom quilting this on a domestic machine, you can do the stitching around the applique as part of the final quilting.
  • Love the quilt. Little hack for peeling paper off the fusible. Score the paper with a strait pin . It works everytime.❤
  • Thank you Misty for this beautiful quilt it’s adorable love the colors❣️🧵🪡✂️💖💗💕❤️
  • I love your tutorials Misty. I look forward to making this quilt. It is so pretty.
  • Well, Misty, it pays to watch these. I would not have thought to cut two hearts out at a time!
  • This would make a lovely quilt for a wedding gift, table runner or placemats too.
  • What a cheerful quilt design! I love anything with hearts. Thanks for your clear directions! Cutting two hearts out at the same time is brilliant!
  • This pattern would make a beautiful table topper too!! Great job Misty. I just love the way you teach.❤
  • I think that for the white orange peel I would back it with a fusible fleece and turn it. It would give it a nice texture
