Yes, this speaker also passed a few years ago due to breast cancer. She was one of the funniest, smartest, most beautiful women to ever grace the planet with her footsteps. She is remembered very fondly.

I remember watching this video for the first time in a public speaking class in college. For some reason, I always come back to it every now & then šŸ’

Beautiful.Authentic.Humorous. I could feel the love. I could see her mother. Sara, great job. Rest in peace with your mother. Amen.
  • I really appreciate this video being here--I teach speech in a university, and I play this every semester as a paradigmatic example of a eulogy. It's one of the few clips and examples that I never swap out, because I haven't found one better. While I knew neither Sara nor Frances, after this, I feel like I knew both of them.
  • I could feel my rib cage breaking, my eyes drowning in an ocean, and my breath leaving me, so funny. But I can also feel my stomach cave in, my heart burn, and mucus build up. That eulogy was beautiful.
  • Sara, you were such a funny, sweet person. So many people miss you! I hope you are hanging out with your mother right now.
  • It gave me the chills, I felt like I was there with her.Ā Ā  Beautiful way to remember her mother.

That was a very moving and funny description of your Mom, it could have very well my mother as yours it was the perfect example of the way she handled anything electronic. She was a school teacher and was a very smart woman also. As I sat here listening to you, with my eyes filled with tears, and smiling when it became my turn how I wish I could've given my Mom the wonderful send off that you gave yours!. She had Alzheimer's and I miss her so much. You did a wonderful job.

Some of the hardest speeches to deliver are eulogies because you can be an emotional roller coaster while delivering them. I've eulogized my mother, father-in-law, and several friends. I try to find one humorous event that occurred between us and incorporate that in the speech but still find myself getting overcome with emotion as well.
  • This mother sounds just like my mama and I would love to have just one more morning phone call. ā¤
