  • This video literally CHANGED MY LIFE. I have found this video as soon as it was posted, by some weird sheer luck. I was sad, depressed, very sick, staying in a Hostel with almost no money, in a foreign country. I was looking for something to motivate me change my life, and find something that drives my heart and mind on a daily basis, something I can indulge in and keep me fulfilled. I gave myself 3-6 months to get where I want. I got there in 6 months. I got an achievement unlocked and now I am on my next 3-6 months journey. I have No Words for enough Thank you for sharing this <3
  • Self-taught sounds easy but needs a lot of discipline, patience and consistency. Am glad that u were able to manage your plan well to get where you are now! Thank you for sharing this brilliant story.
  • "People will doubt you but don't you doubt yourself"❤️ wow thank you so much. This is beyond inspiring.
  • @TrutherTalk
I love your ambition? When someone tells you you have too much ambition, that means that they want someone that they can control, and they can't control you. You are awesome Rachel! Keep on keeping on!
  • Same here 🙋🏽‍♂️ Im from Malaysia too Currently 31 years old, don't have any diploma/degrees, just SPM.. starts from Customer Service Helpdesk - IT Admin - Web Developer - Graphic Designer and now UIUX Designer.. it's long and hard work.. but definitely worth it.. never be afraid to chase your dreams 👍🏼
  • You have absolutely no idea what this video means for me. I am in a similar position, nobody believes I can become a UX designer. I haven't got any experience yet, no degree either. But listening to you made me feel better. Thank you! ❤
  • All those failed interviews honestly sound like red flags that you luckily missed... I can't believe they were threatened that you were 'too ambitious'. I think it's because they want to hire someone they can work to death.
  • It's always refreshing to see new UX designers share their stories on YouTube, especially those who are self-taught. I come from a UX bootcamp background, and I can say with confidence that it IS possible to learn UX by yourself if you're dedicated and have the motivation and drive to do it. It's admirable to listen to your story and so many others who have transitioned into the field not having any sort of design background (I'm in that boat). I just want to say thank you for putting yourself out there and for sharing your beautiful story. I know that people will appreciate this, especially those who need that extra push to take the leap of faith. So thank you!

Hey Rachel, thank you so much for sharing your story. I really want to get into UI/UX design but also wanted to practise elements of coding so that I could understand and potentially do developer work. So the fact that you did both just makes me feel validated in my choice to do so, especially with the timelines you have given yourself making me realise the goal is attainable and has facilitated the success you managed to achieve shortly after! Congrats on securing your role and wish you all the best x

Rachel, I'm so incredibly happy to have discovered your channel. I'm only two videos into your library and my angst has been put at ease and my spirits have lifted. My optimism has returned and it's a welcome relief. Thank you for sharing your wisdoms and providing encouragement in the most well thought-out videos that leave one feeling inspired & motived yet soothed & at ease at the same time.
  • I started learning UX/UI 2 months ago. I'm a international relations bachelor, so it isn't related at all. I'm alone in this journey, studying a lot every day. No regrets, being optimistic. I'm kinda happy of learning something. Glad you found something you love. Hope you all find that too. :)
  • @MartikaW
I definitely needed to see this. The self-learning journey is a tough one, but it’ll be rewarding in the end when it all pays off. I can’t wait to land my first role. Thank you for the motivation Rachel!
  • I love how you incorporate the different kinds of music into your video to send your messages. Awesome way of storytelling! Thanks for sharing! I'm sure this short video took a long time to plan, film, edit and put out to the world! Thanks for making the world a better place!
  • I have no idea what career path I should take. But seeing you go through so much more makes me feel like it's normal to not have things figured out right away. I hope everyone could find and do the job they love :)
  • "People will doubt you, but don't you doubt yourself." Perfect ending, for an amazing video. Thank you very much for sharing your story. Truly inspiring. ❤
  • @RainbowY0
"People will doubt you but don't you doubt yourself" Thanks I really needed that <3

  • I am so proud of you, Rachel! This will give me inspirations to do better, no matter how hard it is
