  • At this point I want a Danganronpa anime called “Danganronpa: before everything” where in each episode it would be a different character of the Danganronpa series and it would focus on themselves beofre the horrible event or before entry of high school or something. Literally like that would be fire

Kirigiri has always been one of my favorite female characters in Dangaronpa. Because of her calm kuudere ways and abilities to solve cases even under pressure
  • Reminds me when I wondered “what if we got a game where Kyoko was the protagonist” but then discovering it apparently already exists it really seems interesting with it’s horror and eerie atmosphere as you partake investigations I’d really like games like that.
  • Kirigirisou is one of those games that no one really talks about in a series because of how obscure it is. Essentially it’s kind of a light horror game and has that sort of vibe with games like Silent Hill do with their ambience. What I mean by that, search up the Silent Hill 2 tracks like “Toluca Lake” and “The Forest Trail” for instance and combine it with Kirigirisou. Personally this game should get talked about more as it’s not a bad title for the Danganronpa series, honestly really love exploring obscure things within a series and this game is one of them.

As a big danganronpa fan, I'm genuinely suprised that this exists WHAT
  • 14:24 Hagakure is there, thinking on how relevant is his entire existence to the Danganronpa series. Even when Kyoko saw him, she was like :"Oh it's Hagakure 🙄....I'm so happy rn👁👄👁" and just leaves
  • THE USE OF THE WEEBY SPRITES ARE SO COOL. Are they the same as the gurls who you retweeted a while ago?
  • @HashihimeTM
If one character deserved a game, it would definitely be my girl kyoko.
  • @blasboise5613
That feeling when you realize that in Danganronpa Another, Kinjo's best friend was based off of this Kohei

12:06 Fun fact: I’m pretty sure that the aliens are actually a reference. A while back there was a book that a scientist wrote about fictional mouse-like animals that evolved to use their nose for various things on a small secluded island. I forget what it’s called and the specifics, but it’s a notable early example of speculative biology/evolution. It also became a bit of a running joke in some parts of the scientific community.

I would love to see summaries on the Kirigiri series because it sounds super interesting

I’m currently reading the Kirigiri novels and while i don’t mind fan translations and have watched some of Kirigiri Sou on YT I’d like for us to eventually have English official English translations. I’m glad they did for stuff like DRIF and DE Hagakure in the games but need moreeee

"He sympathises with her... SIMP" and "That's how you know this route isn't canon, because she would never cheat on Naegi" are priceless. I think I read about Kirigiri Sou at some point but then instantly forgot about it until this video. The story does sound interesting though, even if I wonder if Kyoka should've lived, but I'll have to actually check it out to fully judge. That last route with OOC Kyoko sounds like... something alright. However, the alien one sounds so ridiculous that it's amusing, and I'm also kind of curious because the snouters are actually a real thing from speculative biology, they're this fictional order of mammals native to an archipelago in the Pacific that had their noses evolve into all kinds of unique purposes for each species, but are now extinct along with all their research disappearing because of atomic bomb testing. Apparently they were created by a zoologist under a pseudonym who wanted to prank his colleagues (and this guy's one book is apparently the last record of their existence) and it's basically now a zoological in-joke, lol. From my understanding they're actually significant in the history of speculative evolution because this is an early example of creating relationships, niches and taxonomy of fictional species this detailed. So it's kinda cool that something this obscure yet significant is featured here.
  • @ModernAegis
Kyoka deserved better. I'm glad a popular and sponsored YouTuber is finally talking about it in a meaningful way.
  • @MaxDoodle
It's really more unpopular than forgotten like Danganronpa Kirigiri since they are not getting any official translation.
  • @NeonMori
I heard about this game via reddit where someone did a rework of a sprite from this game. I was both happy and depressed after finding out that this game is a legit creation of spike however its only in Japanese. Because of this game I started wondering if I should learn Japanese. ( Did I spend 10 minutes writing this comment yes. Wil someone read it no.)
  • I've heard of this game before, and dammit I'd love to see it released in Western markets! EDIT: can I also just remark that it's brilliant that not only is it canonical in Danganronpa that a high school girl brought about the end of civilisation, but now it's also canonical that somewhere out in the world of Danganronpa there was a race of human-plant hybrid beasts that devoured people? This franchise just gets zanier and zanier, and that's why we all like it.

I remember finding a translation of this game while trying to find translations of the Kirigiri novels vol. 2 and was planning to look into the game once I was finished with the Kirigiri novels, and then I forgot
