[Corrections posted 10 hours after upload]: Well we said at 38:30 that we probably made some errors somewhere and y'all would point them out in comments. Y'all did, so here's two corrections. In the video we say the Shiren the Wanderer sub-series began on Satellaview (referring to 1995's BS Shiren the Wanderer: Save Surala). Correction: it actually started with 1995's Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer on Super Famicom. We also said Metal Slader Glory's cartridge was 8 megabytes. Correction: it was actually 8 megabits, which is equal to only 1 megabyte. Apologies for errors.
  • It feels like Spaceworld '99 is this mythical event that a seemingly infinite amount of things were shown at.
  • @Nes_Mimikyu
"It's a breeding game, a game where you can play with your friends" 🤨
  • Every other game’s intro: * normal gameplay * Jungle Emperor Leo: “Kill me, eat me, and wear my skin.”

    - Shows video of an old build of a game we've never seen before. - People ask him to dump the files to preserve it and so others can play it. - He leaves, deleting accounts and becoming unreachable. That's the worst part of video game preservation, is when someone is just unwilling to do it. My guess is he didn't want to share because he's the one that spent something for it (in this case, other games), but he had to know what he was getting into when he shared the information online. Either that or the footage was faked and he didn't want to be called out for it.

Thank you for having me on! Always love talking about the 64DD! ☺

I really despise how some collectors are... It's like hearing about those rare and undiscovered dinosaur fossils that would give so much more insight for paleontology
  • Bro, YMS didn't suffer for these Kimba inaccuracies to still be out there 😭 /s
  • The 15,000 units is just the amount of subscribers the online service had. There’s no actual number on how many they sold, but it’s probably not much more.

14:20 "In a word, it's a breeding game -- A game where you can play with your friends." I wasn't paying attention and lost the context lmao.
  • @Mobik_
Wait... so technically the Gamecube was EVERYTHING the N64 wanted to be but the N64 couldn't?
  • @Lymund
cabbage seemed so cool loved Nintendo's low poly designs from this era more than anything

  • @Poyostar
Good lord, I'm genuinely curious as to how some of these cancelled N64DD games would've played like if they were actually released. Can't wait for the second part!

Watch YMS's extensive deep dive into the whole Kimba vs Lion King thing. TLDW: Theyre nothing alike except for the name and the fact that theyre lions.
