These 4 cells probably took a lot of hours to finish. As an illustrator, just watching the process already made me exhausted because of how much motivation and focus it requires to do this repeatedly for hours. The anime animators deserves a lot more respect! 🙇
  • Quick tip: there is actually already a shortcut for rotating the canvas... you can use shift+space... and to reset the rotation you can double left click while holding down the shortcut (shift+space+double click).
  • Imagine drawing all day for just a few seconds. Thank you all the animators in the world you are amazing! Make my childhood till now be awesome to life!
  • Wtf this is the cleanest, straight to the point guide I've seen on Animation.
  • Also, note how Dong, after telling you to use the Onion Skin to draw the Animation Reference drawing (the one with the Triangle) actually flips between drawings, too. This is kind of important so he (or you) does not end up getting trapped in a boring, robotic trace. By flipping to the actual drawings instead of purely relying on onion skin (or the lightbox) you can see arcs between the line points better. It's also why real oldschool animators 'flipped' or 'rolled' the pages with their fingers before putting down new lines. Some animators don't even use the onion skin for some cuts, especially ones with big movement and only use onion skin/lightbox for very very fine movements where the spacing of the lines is really important and onion skin helps not drawing the line over the old one. But you can do whatever you want. Just be aware that flipping the drawings and observing how the lines and corner/start end points of the lines move from the first drawing to the next, while you draw the inbetween of that, can be really helpful in getting a more 'flowy' inbetween. I think this is so second nature to him that he didn't even think of mentioning it. Something he cannot really be blamed for. But I still think it's worth pointing it all out.

21:36 I search all of the internet to find this feature to find the best possible way to do it and no where it was to be seen but finally the search is over , you are a champ man
  • I think and imma be honest... this is by far the easiest way to understand how to use the timeline and the folders. Without making it too complicated I could easily understand and already eager to hop on clip studio to animate something! Thank you for making this animation tutorial dude. I was just gonna stick to toon boom due to the difficulty but now I have more options 🙏🏾✨

Straight to the point and clear demonstration, really great tutorial!
  • The curved line tool totally opened my eyes, I’ve tried animation several times but I always get frustrated on the final clean up pass because my line art looks different on every layer. I’ll definitely try this for more consistency
  • Just wanted to comment that I only found your channel recently and your videos are so clear and succinct in their delivery! I appreciate how you sprinkle little tips /shortcut keys as you worked through the video, esp for someone who just started CSP! Thank you very much!
  • oh man, I wish I watched this tutorial years ago! Animating in CS makes sooo much more sense now; I was always overwhelmed by the amount of layers there are.
  • @Arichiiii
Thank you soooo much for your videos, especially this one! I just had an interview + test for an in-between position and I used your videos to study for the whole week. It really helps me prepare a lot and know what to expect. Now I got the job thanks to you 😭
  • @Ximalao

  • @alieenoir
this video is a blessing, it's so much fun to animate while watching. Finally I understand the overwhelming layout of CSP, it's so cool!
  • Thank you for this tutorial. I may never work in a proper animation studio cause of personal situation but I do work on a personal project during my off hours. So getting acquainted with current practises, terminologies like 'tie-down' etc, what they mean, how to do them etc.. really helps me keep going and improve. I really appreciate you taking time out to teach and share. Thank you
