Hey Sly! If you're still in Bucharest tomorrow, make sure to check the waterfountain light & music show, in Piata Unirii! It's a similar concept with what they have in Dubai, for example (but I think it's better). Starts at 9:30 PM this month, Fri-Sun. 🙂

Yesterday I watched your previous vid on Bucharest and as a Romanian my face lit up. I moved to Bucharest a few years ago and I noticed that it seems really foreigner friendly and I'm happy someone actually confirmed it. Especially the part about English proficiency, I am really glad we are able to make it easier for tourists like you to be here!

Michael Jackson was the first international star to perform in Romania in 1992, and again in 1996.Related to the English language, here in Romania until the beginning of the 70s, French was taught as a foreign language.then it gradually changed to English. in high school we used to learn Russian + English or French + German. could not choose otherwise. Fun fact, nobody knows Russian more than 3-4 words😄

Sly - I'm travelling to Algeria in October (2024) and you continually inspire me to focus on the joy of adventure. Coincidentally, I discovered your channel because of your past trip to Algeria. You highlighted the kindness of the Algerian people and I thank you for that. Cheers!
  • Shout out to Romania from Houston, Texas. I hope to visit for a long stay soon!

correction: as of right now romania is only in the schengen are by air and sea. we still have border controls at our physical land borders unfortunately for now
  • European Continent ends in Russia at Ural Mountains. Romania is right in the center of Europe, so we are Central Europe not East. We were called ''east '' before 1990 just by political reasons. Calling Romania '"East Europe '' is like me calling Nebraska ''East Coast '' :))

Have a nice trip.Romania is a warm and beautiful country!

If I'm guessing right, where the video starts, you're around Stefan Cel Mare (Stephen The Great) area. There's a stadium nearby. Dinamo. Ciorbarie huh? This dish too is turkish in it's origins. It's not exactly soup. It's ciorba. What you're having there is sour tasting, whereas soups are sweet tasting.

Hey, Sly! A little bit of info on the internet infrastructure. The internet is so cheap and fast because at first it was not regulated by the government and the infrastructure in Bucharest was built by enthusiasts. You would see LAN cables hanging all over the buildings. All this because people were hungry for information after having lived through a communist regime. I was one of those that installed internet in the early days. Besides internet being unregulated at first, we also skipped copper based tech and went directly to cable, fiber and DSL.
  • 😂Sly, I laughed when I saw the stinging pepper that you put it all in the vegetable soup. You don't eat it like that. You take it in your hand and bite a little bit of it and eat a spoonful of soup.🤣
  • The second soup was creamier because it has sour cream in it, which you should have also had with first soup.because this is how you serve the cow soup,( which I think you had first ) So,both are supposed to be creamy,If you eat it accordingly
  • @Mikearhangel
Beautiful summertime Romania 🎉 Have a nice trip, Sly
  • @durere
About the soups...the second one had sour cream in it 😅
  • @walloop7196

  • @plonss
