With Fire Emblem Echoes releasing, I thought I would finally play the Fire Emblem series where it all began. Well, in America at least. This week episode of the Completionist: Fire Emblem the Blazing Sword on the Game Boy Advance (GBA)!

About The Game:
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade is a tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld video game console. It is the seventh entry in the Fire Emblem series, the second to be released for the platform after Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, and the first to be localized for Western audiences. It was released in Japan and North America in 2003, and in Europe and Australia in 2004.

7:16 "It might even convince me to dust off my old copy of Awakening" Shows footage from Fire Emblem Fates
  • @ozzy2012
I remember finishing Lyn’s story and thinking I beat the game 😂😭
  • @Mangs1337
This game seems kinda cool. I should give it a try sometime.

Lol, I learned of fire emblem back in 2005. I was in the 5th grade and playing with 2 magnets. My classmate was so interested in them for some reason that he offered to trade my 2 magnets for Fire emblem 7. My classmate said it was a boring game and bad. Coming from a poor family and not being able to afford games I accepted the trade. Man, am I glad I did. It was fate that I found Fire emblem that day.

20:57 Correction: Fire Emblem: Awakening was not the first instance of Casual Mode. More accurately, the Japanese-only "Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem" is when they added Casual Mode.
  • 16:55 Romance wasn't first introduced in Awakening. It was first in Fire Emblem 4: Genealogy of the Holy War, and even though it was a SNES game, the mechanics behind romance and subsequent child units were more complex since you had to consider aspects such as carrying over bloodlines so that they are able to wield weapons exclusive to a bloodline. If you thought THIS game made you think of Game of Thrones, FE4 is even more so.

Well thats the first time I heard someone complain about the overworld textures

UH YOU DO REALISE YOU CAN CHANGE ANIMATIONS FROM 1 TO 2?! THAT FIXES THE BACKGROUND PROBLEM!
  • @AGCrazyRabbit
As I saw the thumbnail I thought "oh cool, he reviewed Fire Emblem 7, that's nice". Then I realized "Wait... this is the guy that beats games 100% before reviewing them... OH GOD....!"
  • @Nensago
When the reviewed game is Blazing Sword, but the thumbnail artwork is Roy from Binding Blade Trigged

If you don't like the map showing in the background while fighting, you can change it via settings.
  • Enemy Archer 13% chance to hit. My unit 87% chance to hit. I miss, Enemy hits me with the 27 damage crit. T.T
  • Mother of crap. I'm usually a silent viewer for this channel, but damn. A classic Fire Emblem being on a big time YouTube review channel. What a time to be an FE fan. I love it. I love seeing Jirard's experience with it and his opinions he has formed. He completed Hector hard mode man. And the supports. And the sound test. I'm one of the more well known GBA hackers in the community. I've hacked all the GBA games to pieces man... and that's no small feat. Especially not in the space of a week. HE EVEN LEGIT GOT THE MARIO KART DOUBLE DASH UNLOCKS (including the Emblem weapons like holy crap) I feel bad he had to rush to do all this. Respect man. I understand all his pain. I understand his problems with the game. Fire Emblem is not meant for completion in a week. Jirard, on behalf of the niche FE community of Serenes forest: We welcome you, brother. We welcome your pain with the supports. We welcome your pain with stat level ups and 1% crits. With all respect we know that feel.

This is tied for my favorite game of all time, but good god man, this was never meant to be one hundred percented
  • Lyns mode: tutorial waifu mode. Eliwoods: normal mode Hectors mode: Eliwoods mode but with Pegasus knights everywhere.
  • @HajimotoSaito
dude, eliwood's tale is more about finding his father, he just happened to get tangled with black fang along the way,
  • @paradise8061
This is a message from Lord Nergal, "I await you on the Dread Isle."
  • What Fire Emblem game should be on my radar next? Should I dust off my copy of Awakening? Let me know!
  • @hmmurdockofids
The music in this game is SO GOOD. Pretty much every track is a banger. Especially that Black Fang theme.
