"I've been in... not a slump... just in a... what's a word for it? A pit of despair, perhaps?" 😂😂😂
  • @cat.book.nook.
I'm gonna push Blood over Bright Haven once more. It's probably my favorite book of last year and had a reveal that made me gasp and have to process it for a few minutes.

Every time Hanif is mentioned in a video I run to the comments to sing his praises. Not only is he an incredible writer, but he's super active is his community (Columbus, OH) and is just so kind and lovely. You're going to love They Can't Kill Us

OMG YAY!! I did what I had to do as a fantasy girly haha I couldn't pass up the chance and I knew there was no way you were ever going to read it 😅I genuinely hope you love it but either way I can't wait to see what you think :_love:

Chuck Palahniuk has a lot of insane plot twists, specifically Haunted and Invisible Monsters. Personally, as much as I love Invisible Monsters (really fun and campy but it might be too dated for you, like, it's a very 90s book), I feel like you might vibe with Haunted- it's about authors at a writer's retreat that descends into general madness. The plot is also broken up by short stories that are supposed to be the work of the characters in the book, too.

I recently read a book because a one star review said they’re rather get a root canal then read the book ever again… I gave it 4.5 stars. It’s such a fun concept to do.

one of my favourite slow burn plot twists is in elena knows by claudia piñeiro, i don't think it's necessarily intended to be shocking but the realisation of what was really going on absolutely floored me when i read it another is penance by eliza clark, which made me completely reconsider everything i'd just read after i finished it

I'm excited for you to read The Final Empire because Brandon Sanderson is the first author I think of when someone says "plot twist". If you end up reading the whole Era 1 Mistborn trilogy, the plot twist in Hero of Ages is *chef's kiss*.
  • @KiraKiera
Bloom was an interesting book. Definitely go in knowing as little as possible.
  • @mushroomc0re
It's been said before but Harrow the Ninth has the best plot twist I've ever read
  • @sophiareagan6425
It's not a thriller or a mystery, but Harrow the Ninth has plot twists that had my jaw on the floor. It's also just generally a pretty wild of a book, as Gideon was.

“The Fingersmith” by Sarah Winters is a great plot-twisty book. Really anything by Sarah Winters usually has a very cool twists in them :)
  • You’re reading The Final Empire?!?! Omg. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
