  • How dare you call Lego Batman movie just “fine.” That movie is amazing.
  • The original made people say “huh, wow!” The sequel made people say “Huh. Wow.”
  • The first movie was literally my childhood this is a tragedy lol
  • Trust me. the fact the second lego movie completely went over my radar until it's movie came out is crazy. unlike the first one that was just everywhere on tv.
  • Emmet is truly the autistic representation we need

They honestly should’ve gotten the people that wrote the first movie to write this.
  • I am surprised they never had a gag about somebody stepping on a lego in either of the movies
  • gotta be honest, I never read the whole plot twist with Rex as a criticism of masculinity, but of maturity. Rex is the "edgy mature" while Emmett is the "real mature". Maturity and edginess are not the same thing; and a lot of kids often think that, male and female. That said, I'm an unironic enjoyer of The Lego Movie 2; but I totally agree with most of your takes about it. The movie was pretty good, but not outstanding the way the first one was.
  • What i always thought funny is that the queen says she isnt evil while commiting crimes like Kidnapping or bribery
  • The phone call with your sister was a cuter and more effective family connection than anything in this movie
  • I never got the message of masculinity in this literally just thought it was about letting a younger sibling play with you even if it's the most annoying thing in your childhood.

I can't believe Lego Star Lord became a future villain. Just like Buzz Lightyear. 😨
  • Lord and Miller not being the directors for this movie definitely hurt it a lot. Same thing happened with Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2.

For the political side i didn't even know there was a political message about gender biases and toxic masculinety, I just saw Rex as holding a grudge on his friends which in the real life would be his sister 💀
  • Both me and my sister independently guessed that Rex was evil Emmet from the future and Lego fiends were secretly the “good guys” but dismissed it thinking it would be a dumb plot twist
  • I literally forgot this movie ever happened, despite the first being one of my favorite animated movies. Not even SON OF THE MASK managed to make me subconsciously forget it that completely.
  • I never saw the sequel but I kind of knew it was impossible to live up to the original. Not just because of quality, but the ending of the first kind of left it impossible to capture the same emotions again after learning everything was a metaphor for family and not real.
  • kinda bad that they didn't make more sets for lego movie 2 because some of the character designs were actually cool looking

It’s genuinely sad that these films basically went the way of image movers digital after their last film, Lego movie 2 couldn’t make bank at the box office, maybe if they had spread them out better people would’ve felt less fatigued with them, but regardless the fond memories these films I will forever cherish, and I hope the films made at universal can work out just as well.
