This song is his most well known off his album Good Kid MAAd City, this album is what gave him his place as a top rapper since this showed his ability to storytell while still making them hits. This album is his story growing up in Compton and how it shaped him. It has “interludes” between songs that have extra story telling pieces, if you listen from beginning to end it is honestly crazy. You should definitely react to more from this album.
  • "im not saying that he did it... but ever since that day i was looking at him different" bar hits different lol
  • I saw Kendrick Lamar live on sunday. He really is the greatest of all time
  • Pirus is a gang that originates from Compton, they wore red before the bloods were formed and even had a short alliance with the crips. But after fights over territory over drugs and money the piru and crips became enemies and joined the bloods when they formed. The piru gang got split up after years of internal conflict. Kendrick grew up in a piru neighborhood the west side piru. He mentions another rapper that comes from a clique called the tree top piru (yg who is another artist who is amazing).

Maan this song is so timeless, great reaction! This song truly highlighted what Kendrick is all about, someone who refused to be a product of his environment even though he was surrounded by tragedy

Kendrick didn’t intentionally lace his marijuana. Someone else laced it and didn’t tell him (I’m assuming the drug dealer). As he said in the song, it’s the reason he hardly smokes anymore because of his first experience with marijuana being laced.

Once you listen to each song on this album, you should sit down on your own time and listen to the entire album from start to finish. For some context, it's a story album and this song transitions into another song you listened to already, Swimming Pools (Drank). That's what the voicemails at the end or beginning of each song are for.
  • @MrDestroys
You should react to more kendrick like how much a dollar costs and other songs
  • I think you would really like DUCKWORTH by him. It's literally the conincidences that lead to his career. It's a really crazy story. Tbh if you ever get to listen to his full albums they all tell a complete story.
  • @nate_carmona
This song is an all time, ALL TIME GREAT. One of those that put Kendrick on the map… I performed this song to my H. English class in 8th grade 🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely obsessed with your videos lately. Please please, even if you don't review it, do yourself the favor of listening to the full LP good kid, m.A.A.d city. From start to finish the album is nothing short of a masterpiece, literally a short film by Kendrick Lamar. Each song puts you on an emotional rollercoaster in similar ways to m.A.A.d city. My favorite album of all time.

Pirus are the original Blood gang that was based off Piru Street in Los Angeles. Bloods, along with Crips, have branched out to many different sets of Bloods and Crips. The more you know 😬😬😬
  • @Dud3itsj3ff
"If Pirus and Crips all got along, They'd probably gun me down by the end of this song" Piru "Bloods" and Compton "Crips" The comptom part is simple enough, but Piru is a street. The original set of bloods, as far as I know.
  • i think a song from kendrick with more of the mental aspect would be the art of peer pressure & money trees both from the same album
  • @meen5503
About him foaming out of his mouth, he didn’t mean to mix them. He talked about a time he hit a blunt that was laced.
  • Honestly... Just to chill with Tom; Nick ur so blessed to have him as a father. Not saying he was perfect... But the effort he puts into this... I can tell he puts it into all facets of his life. It warms my heart. My father was... An addict, God bless em. He was also disabled, divorced... Couldn't play music anymore which was his whole identity. Could u imagine? Also he was battling depression and mental health. I don't hold it against him anymore. But umm yeah. U guys are great, ty.
  • “Made me an Angel on Angel Dust” One of the meanings of m.A.A.d
  • Dictionary definition of " when the beat drops" - good on you 😄
  • @manny7866
Crazy growing up in the same city we're all so desensitized to the violence and when we tell others outside the city they wonder if we are mental lol its always a weird feeling but it's kind of fun telling the crazy stories.
  • @bhswarrior94
I didn't grow up in Compton or the LA area but being from North Minneapolis I had quite a few experiences that make able to relate to this song way more than I like to admit sometimes.
