A great podcast! I am from Afghanistan, I was born and raised there and I have spent 25 years of my life in Kabul. With all due respect to Iyer Jii! A few things were worded a bit inaccurate that I would like to point out. Firstly, our food is not all meat, eating out in a restaurant or a hotel is not affordable for 90% of Afghans, when we have guests we normally cook meat because meat is also a delicacy not every Afghan household can afford to eat on a regular basis in most Afghan households they eat meat only when they have guests. secondly Iyer Jii stated that he didnt see anyone playing cricket, cricket is played on regular basis all over Kabul but not in the busy center and business areas, plus mostly Pashtoons play cricket areas like Ahmad Shah Baba Mena are predominantly populated by Pashtoons you can witness kids playing cricket on every patch of grass. His views about the new regime and the geopolitics were on point. We love India not just because we share an enemy but we have so many cultural similarities and history together. Because of Bollywood and the Indian music industry I speak fluent Hindi. I have been to India a few times and I had the time of my life. its ironic he mentioned Hashish A lot, I live in Germany since 1 year and as I was playing this podcast I made Hashish joint and ordered Chicken Biryani which was Ironically delivered to me by a Pakistani guy. and the two points I pointed out are strictly for educational purposes. Mr. Iyer is one of the few media people that saw the reality. I worked with a lot of western journalists, with them I felt no joy while working because they have a very unchangeable minset. but with Indian journalists the fun started while negotiating the prices, I always had a lot to talk about with them. Aur Ranveer Jii Aapke saare podcasts mai dekhta ho aur alag alag subjects pe knowledge haasel karta ho, Mera Entertainment aur knowledge ka badhna dono ek saath hote hai so thank you for these amazing podcasts.
  • As an Afghan, married to Indian and living in Australia and New Zealand, I really enjoyed this podcast. Thank you 🙏
  • I never have met any Afghanis in India , but after moving to Germany I met so many Afghani Hindus . There is even Afghani Hindu temple in Frankfurt and yes @Beerbiceps they are damn attractive , you are doing a great work man ,thanks a ton ❤
  • As an American, this perspective was great to hear. And is right, one of the many reasons why we failed in Afghanistan is because we tried to force our style of government and living to a country and people that was not ready for it or didn't want it.
  • @rutvikrs
This is the second AIM podcast today. Thanks for bringing him on Ranveer. Make him a regular cause that is how good this combination is.
  • This guy is good. He doesn't do the binary thinking like US is totally wrong or right etc. Reality is complex and he explains that well. We need to hear more people like this or listen more to people like him. Greetings from the Netherlands
  • In college had a friend from kabul( international student ). The amount of love he had for india really surprised me , considering the image that the media has created for afghans . Awsome podcast and sending love to all afghanis 🇦🇫 from India 🇮🇳
  • What ever Shri Abhijit is saying about Talibans is absolutely true, they don't hate Indians but you cannot vouch for their next move, anything can trigger their anger...and you will be blown! My husband was posted there for a year, he is a doctor went there on a medical mission. Local tribal leader took good care of every Indian working in Jalalabad
  • Hmm as an American. I completely agree with this gentleman. I’m in my 60th year.. Biden is ridiculous.. Trump was a crazy man but I now appreciate him🤷🏻‍♀️ugh Obama did our Country great harm and also the rest of the 🌎 world .. very much enjoy your show. It’s good to look at things with different perspectives 🙏🏼Namaste ..
  • Abhijeet is Gem 💎 in geopolitics... really nice to hear him😊😊😊
  • Greetings from Armenia! I enjoyed this podcast. Interesting to see how various cultures view others and what they typically know about surrounding neighbours. Abhijit should definitely come to Armenia. We have many Indians (they mostly come to study medicine at our Med Uni) and we also call cheese "panir", and oven "tundir" (we have many similar words - not sure who borrowed from whom) and we don't hang people (we abolished capital punishment long ago) and these days we focus on Tech and human capital. The culture in Armenia is generally liberal and people are warm and welcoming. Abhijit will definitely like it and will come back with a bag of interesting stories to tell.
  • I really enjoyed this Video love from Afghanistan ❤️ I promise Afghanistan will be fine just give us time
  • @cpol1146
Major Gaurya Arya and Abhijit Iyer Mitra are a gem in terms of geo politics
  • I really love your growth Ranveer, the channel started with how to dress better, how to impress girls and now some serious stuff about engineering, upsc , public policy, International relations, defence , astrophysics and history. This shows how much growth you have had . From South Bombay guy to developing into a public intellectual , this is some real change.
  • As an American I’d like to say that this is how our government thinks, none of us want to liberate the world and give them democracy we want our government to stop starting and funding wars. They might make it seem like that what we want through the media you use but real Americans didn’t want the afghan war or to fund the Ukraine war
  • @swapnita1
Am I getting addicted 😅 even 1.5 hrs seems short 😢 Abhijit is so damn underrated .. he is a gem ..
  • What if Abhijit Iyer Mitra, Abhijit Chavda and Ranveer Alabadia had a joint podcast session instead of one on one session sounds exciting
  • @sk-bl1hz
How refreshing and balanced. As someone who is used to the western media, this comes as a real eye opener
