Awesome video!!! I was always amazed at how much some games gave in terms of additional content. Dragon Warrior was definitely one of those games.

Never played Dragon Warrior! I remember hearing of it but never tried it. Another for the backlog! 🦎🦎

I remember getting my free copy of Dragon Warrior, and given the timing of when I got it and when I bought Phantasy Star. I ended up playing that one and off for almost 2mths before I then got to Dragon Warrior and man the game was not easy and I had to be patient with it. But it was so awesome to get. Watching this video totally brought me back to my childhood. Thank you for making this video so much man!!!!!
  • Oh man, the game that made me fall in love with JRPG's! Rock on dude!
  • It's a goddamn CRIME that this fella has less than 2k subs....I'm also old, I'm also a gamer, and while I've never been married or had kids I like to pretend I'm on a budget...Great video bud, lookin forward to more....Greetings from Texas!

I played it because a friend had it and he got it as a gift from his grandma it was my intro to the series in 1998
  • I saw the original commercial back in the day, then my parents bought me for my bithday, I think. Great memories, but I didn't understand how to play it inmediatly. Took me some time to grow up and get it, until I beat it.
  • I played the heck out of this back in the day! I can’t rem how I got it but the map and handbook are a must. I beat it last year and it held up way better than I thought it would.

Agree the artwork was the best! Dragon warrior was my first rpg I played. My buddy had it and was into D&D and I got into it as well. Loved the difficulty, NES hard! Enjoyed the sequel as well.
  • Not only is it a fantastic game but has a great soundtrack too. Wish they'd release the soundtrack, on CD just like they did with all Ninja Turtles games for the Nes. I've beaten it quite a few times. It's a little too easy though. A friend of mine first introduced me to this game before I played it, as I would watch him play. Great game for back in the day

I think the multiple endings was really cool though I wish the bad ending was a little more theatrical I guess😂

I really miss the instruction booklets. i would not play a game without reading the entire manual, I just did not feel like I could jump into a game without doing so.

I got it free from Nintendo Power. I think my first JRPG was Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System.
