Fun fact about Albanians and Chinese - when they started their cooperation during the Cold War era they didn't had any language to talk to each other so YES they were communicating to each other in Russian - the country that both were trying to avoid relying on.

I am from Norway, and last summer my family suddenly decided to go to Albania. We typically go to Greece, Spain, Italy etc. But Albania was a cozy country, with nice people, delicious food, good beaches.

I’ve only met a few people from Albania here in Australia but they have been lovely people. ❤️

It's so strange you haven't even mentioned the strong friendship between Albania and Italy for ages. We, italian, were the only people that helped them during the fall of communism. Many of them left the country to come here.

I think you forgot to mention a majority of Albanians live outside Albania like Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece and Montenegro.

The only story I have about Albania (I haven’t visited yet) is this: I was with a tour group and we crossed into Croatia from Montenegro. Another tour bus was stopped and everyone was off of the bus and border officials were pulling off the luggage, crawling under the bus, had dogs searching all over. We asked the tour guide if this was typical (since we only had a border officer come aboard, check us against our passports, and leave). He stated ‘only for Albanians, sadly some criminals gave them the reputation for smuggling and now they all pay the price.’

My Australian history teacher taught me that Balkan countries were the most socially awkward countries in the world. Kinda like the unpopular kids in my class that were given an assignment but they spent most of their time arguing with each other thereby failing the assignment and ruining it for themselves. Judging by these comments, he was right.

I made a road trip across Albania and let me tell you, the country is beautiful and the people are incredible warm. Visit Albania and you’ll fall in love with it. Greetings from your Mexican friend!
