Come along as I cook supper for my family. The star of the meal is a traditional Appalachian recipe: fresh green beans with new potatoes. So good!

  • Tipper, you are not silly or sappy. You are pure comfort. Please keep doing what you do, in your very special way. Love you, your sweet family and what you share with us.
  • You ever cease to amaze. You find beauty and solace in so many things you do. That’s probably how you were raised, but it’s also one of your gifts.
  • Cooked to death, green beans, and potatoes and fried green tomatoes, and cornbread. And then peach cobbler, oh my gosh. Your family is going to love this. ❤❤❤
  • The green beans and potatoes took me back to my childhood. Thanks.
  • @ruthhstarr
Love your cooking videos! After Hurricane Katrina, my son lived in a tent for a couple of weeks, and he cooked canned green beans and potatoes with an onion and some bacon cooked over fire. He developed a real love for this dish. Said he made it every day. Sustained him.
  • When I was young, fresh green beans with new potatoes, cornbread, tomatoes, cucumbers, corn on the cob, and cornbread were regular summertime suppers. Still a favorite many years later. And I love fried green tomatoes.
  • " Grandpa, what's for supper" Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm. Takes me back to my childhood. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family, Tipper!
  • I kept saying “Tipper something is about to boil over”🤣🤣🤣
  • I just cleaned, strung, and broke 10 pounds of green beans and froze them. We just "happened" by a guy selling them for $2 a pound (God's provides). I told him 7 pounds and he gave me three. Can you believe it? There are still good people in the world as you and Matt are living proof! I made a blackberry cobbler Sunday for after dinner. Then only difference between mine and yours is that I sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top when it's done and then brown that for 3-4 minutes. It makes it have a sweet, crunchy shell on top! Your meal looks wonderful! Enjoy!!!
  • Loved my Granny's green beans and potatoes. Oh the sweet memories. I am a great grandmother now...but I still remember how much I enjoyed her cooking. Thank you Tipper as always for stirring my memories.❤️🙂🙋
  • My grandmother made greenbeans with side meat. Oh boy, they were the best! Nice to eat together and help Corie with meals. And you get to spend time with those precious baby boys! God bless.

I so relate to what you say about the beautiful food the garden provides, especially at this time of year. I buy a local farmer's box each week. On my pick up day, I bring everything home and carefully go through the box, washing everything and laying it out. I feel so grateful for the beautiful bounty.
  • I miss my moms green beans and new potatoes 😢. Thanks for good memories ❤
  • Memories of being on my grandma farm watching her snap beans with her shift dress on and an apron overtop! Of course wish those days never ended! Thank you for sharing!
  • Oh Tipper, you're starving me to death !! The best supper ever, always eat this all my life, my Daddy so loved this supper, his favorite too. My Mother cooked this supper for us all, all the years of our lives growing up. How blessed we are ! Love you.
  • I love the fact you don't use paper plates but instead real plates... food is so much better on a plate and no waste
  • My grandma was from Ireland. She often made green beans with white rose potatoes. She cooked them slowly with onions and a quarter pound of butter in chicken stock. It was delicious and was a whole meal with homemade yeast rolls. Fond memories........❤
  • God Bless you for these videos. It takes me back to the days before I lost my Mom and Grandma, it’s like being in the kitchen with them again, and so many of the foods you make are what we grew up on. Thank you so much.
