One of the reasons the 40k setting is so rough right now

The filing cabinet wasn't filled with complaints from the Night Haunter, it was complaints from the other primarchs ABOUT the Night Haunter.

“I was there, when Horus killed the emperor” -Garviel Loken
  • For the record there IS a warband of classic green-tinted "Sons of Horus" still around in 40k canon. They're called the True Sons and they maintain loyalty to Horus instead of Abbadon. Also Lucius beat Garviel pretty soundly in their rematch.

I think they definitely played their role perfectly as THE antagonist in a universe full of antagonists

i think what made the Sons of Horus cool was that they were noble originally, despite their background. they enjoyed warfare like any astartes, but they were never cruel or blood thirsty. never relishing in the slaughter, but as much flak some people give horus for turning so quickly i think the books did a good job of showing how just a few cracks, and some change in perspective could turn this specific legion from unlikely super stars of the imperium, to the arch traitors, killing anyone who dared defied them and their warmaster
  • The worst part is Horus was one of the nicer and compassionate primarchs. Reading the first book in the series made me fall in love with him and the wolves. Love my baby boy loken

The Flesh Terrors did find a loyalist Luna Wolf in Stasis on a space hulk When they told him what his Primarch Horus and his brothers did back in the Horus heresy, he was pissed and stole one of the Flesh Terrors ships and went to find his Triator brothers.
  • You know who else hate Erebus, and may have beat him nearly to death. Kharn. You know what legion Kharn came from. WORLDEATERS

Hey there are actually remenants of the sons of horus legion that still identify as that legion they are called the True Sons and also there is a lot more to the 16th Legion than their favorite tactic of killing the enemys leaders. The problem is no one talks about them!
  • @DaRollinThunder
100% agree. Garviel is quite literally the best character in all of the lore. He was never a Sons of Horus. He was and remains a Luna Wolf, a true son of Cthonia, and a loyal servant the The Emperor of Mankind, beloved by all.

Targaddon is 40k's best boy. The real hero. In my headcannon he joked his way out of the horus heresy and we all kived happily ever after.

Horace Lubricate was too bald for the universe to handle.

I won’t lie, I genuinely LOVE the Sons of Horus, and plan on getting and painting a SoH army for 30k and a True Sons army for 40k. From their color scheme, which idk why but the gold and dark green with the contrast of big red Eyes of Horus just looks so baller to me, to the whole “suped up, disciplined ganger” aesthetic they have, kinda similar to the NL with their culture being heavily influenced by Nostroman gang culture. In fact, when it comes to their aesthetic, like many other legions have their own “aesthetics” (WS=Mongols, DA=Classical Knightly Orders, IF=US Marines and Teutonic Knights in a blender), the SoH have a blend of that ganger culture and the Roman Kingdom. Where as Bobby G and the Blue Crew are more akin to Late Republic/Imperial Rome, SoH feels like the early Roman Kingdom; a gaggle of tough as nails marauders that can beat people around because of their discipline, while not sacrificing their savagery
  • Quick correction, the interex actually supassed the imperium of man in technological prowess. They had more advanced, far more manuverable power armor that anyone could wear without issue, bows that shot arrows of energy that could instantly kill space marines, and IIRC; they also had functioning men of iron that didnt betray them, and were aware of the dangers of chaos.

I like the Black Legion terminators. My all-time favorite terminators, with their little fur patches, their colorful skull ornaments, and those cool tusks. There should be a T'au battle suit with mammoth tusks and razor claws, that'd be sick. Also, when T'au?
  • @foolduke2810
Theres like two to three SoH Warbands with one of them emulating the Luna Wolves and another making wood statues of Horus to burn(in a venerating way)
  • They REALLY should've got Guilliman to be the Warmaster. He feels like someone who would be calm enough to deal with infinite paperwork and complaints.

When you get too abaddon please don’t just roast him please. I genuinely do like his backstory and motives and I just hope you do him even a fraction upon a fraction of him justice. (Plus his model is goated)
