In case you're wondering why ranging the mager, but especially maging the warrior in the blood pact quest took so long: you're wearing melee armour. Wearing off-style armour can heavily affect your accuracy, which means your damage potential is very low. See target info window: the 100% at 35:06, the 69% at 35:37, and the 15% at 36:10. this means your damage is 100%, 69% or 15% of what it could be at 100% hit chance.

the Mining & Smithing Updated is the best thing to ever come to RS3. The addition of the ore box and metal bank along with rewarding active play with rockitunities is the greatest QOL i have seen Jagex do.

Hey Mahano, it was really nice to see you work through things without getting frustrated and just taking things as they came at you. Really appreciate that about the video. Really hope that you stick with it as I feel Rs3 will really surprise you in a good way the deeper you get. The reason it feels empty is that a big majority of content now is instanced, obviously its still vast in its scope but yeah. I suggest you join a clan and start experiencing some quests. Another commenter said to switch your quest category by “age” and I also highly recommend that too. Looking forward to the next episode!!!

It's wild going in the other direction as an RS3 player playing OSRS. People go on about that combat being "simpler" but it really isn't. OSRS iterated on the combat by really heavily emphasizing the tick system, turning the whole thing into an incredibly challenging 0.6 second interval rhythm game. I've gotten better, but it's certainly a night and day difference to try OSRS content like The Leviathan when the last time you did "challenging content with the old combat system" was Fight Caves. So on the inverse of that, while RS3 has more buttons to push, you can keybind everything and have every interface tab open at once if you want. You don't have to re-click your opponent every time you drink potions, eat food, or swap gear, and the expected reaction time on things is typically one global cooldown, AKA three ticks.
  • im an os player, tried rs3 3 times,, first time was for like 5 mins, 2nd time was for like a day, this time started playing and giving it my best go as always wanted to get into it but guess as a new players perspective going from os to rs3, you get waaaay overwhelmed and dont really know where to start, but having a blast with it now that ive figured out alot more etc and know the direction i want to go, anyone wanting to play i recommend it, at first youll probably be put off or overwhelmed like i was but will eventually figure it out

Welcome to RuneScape 3! It’s always a fun adventure starting from scratch again. Good luck on your adventure!
  • I've done that tutorial about four times. Never did it even occur to me to try to fish more than one shrimp at a time. I would get one shrimp. Follow the instructions, burn the first shrimp. Go back to get another shrimp. Then cook that shrimp and move on. For however many times I've done the tutorial or watched someone do it on a Youtube video, this is the first time I've seen someone come out of Tutorial Island with Fishing at level 3. Amazing.
  • if you havnt found it yet, you dont choose attack styles like in osrs, you go to the combat section in the settings and you can choose what xp you get from which combat style you do

I remember when I was in a discord call with a friend of mine whom I haven't talked to in months and I'm like "What do you play nowadays"? and he says Rs3 and I remember Roasting and flaming him (jokingly) but little did I know is that he convinced me to hop on for a a bit to "Mess around" fast forward to now.. am now maxed on Rs3 haha anyway what I'm trying to say Rs3 is an amazing game, but it’s frustrating to see it overshadowed by a lack of content and predatory MTX. People often suggest playing an Ironman to avoid this, but I prefer Mainscape. It’s a bit of a turn-off when I see OSRS getting updates and new content, New game modes, Leagues, DMM and whatever, while we mostly get weekly Treasure Hunter promotions as updates. The game has changed a lot since EOC. I remember playing during the EOC update and hating it. However, when I joined RS3 in 2018 it felt completely different (it felt good)—or maybe I just approached it with a completely different mindset and I think more players should too!

Would definitely love to see this continued, probably the best trying rs3 video I've seen
  • @roberthayes3223
Love seeing someone from OSRS jump in and give rs3 another run. As a vet of runescape in general I think both games have plenty to try and enjoy. Both are worth sinking time into. Excited to see you continue!
  • Welcome in man! I still go back and forth between osrs and rs3 but been pretty much exclusively playing rs3 again since a bit after TOA came out. There’s a lot to love. If you want some easy agility levels, recommend getting silver hawk boots asap and just passively getting agility levels with them. I made my first 300m on my alt by getting my herb, smithing, and crafting up to around lvl 85-90. Slow buying and slow selling supplies, tons of profit on great exp methods. Recommend doing some of that earlier to get yourself some money to boost the account. Necromancy is an amazing resource for early pvm, abilities make a lot more sense than the other cb style abilities and will set you up better for training the other styles. That said, you’ll still want your def and stuff up too. Rs3 has endless content for you to explore so wouldn’t really recommend anything specific just yet. Keep enjoying whichever path you set yourself on! Gwd1/2 are soloable rather easily with t70 gear and equipment. Don’t lamp archeology or necro, they punish you for boosting exp. Both are relatively fast to train. Getting invention unlocked early will help a lot for augmenting tools and weapons. Worth noting; you don’t need to perk your weapons when you augment, it just gives you the ability to. So if you can’t afford good perks, don’t worry about it, augment and then siphon/disassemble as necessary to level it up. Looking forward to more content :)

Something about these "trying rs3" videos is that they are always early game. Obviously it would take a long time and dedication to get to the bossing and new elite skilling and such, but it's really where the game is at it's best. They don't bother updating the early game, so no one ever gets a great first impression unfortunately.

Welcome to this side of the pond dude 🙌 It's always fun to see OSRS players give RS3 a shot!
  • Personally, I play both, depending on what kind of gameplay I want, like for modern gameplay; RS3, or nostalgic gameplay; OSRS.
  • Welcome to the good version of the game. Btw, the reason why you're struggling at 36:06 is bc you're wearing melee armor with a magic weapon. That reduces your accuracy to nothing
  • @XLORDXPAINX
More rs3 content needs to be out in the world. The game is honestly really good if people give it an actual chance.. I never stopped playing even when eoc came out.. 20 year old character. Never bothered with osrs because I played way more than enough of that as a teen lol..
  • @kaoskn1ght850
The Pathfinder armour you get from Gudrik in Port Sarim is really good for the early levels. It's hybrid type and beats most armour till level 20 stuff. The weapons you get from him are better than the ones from "The Blood Pact" quest as well.

I started Osrs a month ago with my completely maxed main with several billions of gold in Rs3. (same rsn) I always loved the time before eoc. However, when eoc came out I didn't stop playing. Rs3 has become a really good game for me. Osrs is now nostalgia and reliving childhood for me. What I always notice in osrs are the activities that I hated back then and still don't like now. But it's so annoying and nostalgic that you do it and still somehow love it. Just one example is agility. In Rs3 I'm close to 200m XP, and I don't think I've ever done a course before. (lamps, silverhawks) Now it really hurts to tear agility. Just like before. Still, you do it, no matter how much it hurts. There's a grind in every meter you walk, and that's what not only makes osrs old for me, but also makes Runescape special again. I've now had almost 20 days of pure playing time in 30 days. I play osrs like I used to as a child. The only difference is that the osrs account is now an Ironman. A completely new experience for me worth continuing to play. Rs3 hasn't died for me. There are over 20 years of playing time in it... But I think my heart will be with osrs for a very long time.
