Correcting Britain's Vitamin D deficiency could save thousands of lives (David Davis MP, Matt Ridley)

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/09/26/correcting-bri…

There is one chemical that:

is known to be safe

known to be needed by many people anyway

known to have a clinically proven track record of helping people fight off
respiratory diseases

is so cheap no big firm is pushing it

vitamin D

Vitamin D Levels Appear to Play Role in COVID-19 Mortality Rates

Control group 50% admitted to ICU

Put another way, the use of Vitamin D reduced a patient’s risk of needing intensive care 25-fold

The Government should now act on this latest evidence

We have good reason to think vitamin D supplementation will help reduce mortality from Covid-19

we know it can reduce the incidence and severity of the other acute respiratory illnesses

pressures from influenza during the winter months

This will no doubt save thousands of lives in any second wave

There is now no reason not to act

Covid-19: Do many people have pre-existing immunity? (21 September 2020, Eshani M King, BMJ)

www.bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m3563/rr-6

Many have T cells that act against SARS-CoV-2 epitopes

Killing intracellular parasites

Critical in viral immunity

T cell response might be more important that B cell response

onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/pai.13263

B‐cell response might be important, but is not strictly required to overcome the disease

Vaccines focused on antibody levels

Mild or asymptomatic cases, many T-cells are produced

In these mild cases, few or no detectable antibodies

Men produced fewer T-cells than women

Older men produce less T cells than younger men

Vitamin D controls T cell antigen receptor signaling and activation of human T cells, (University of Copenhagen)

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20208539/

Vitamin D essential to facilitate maturation of naïve T cells to dedicated, specific T cells

When a T cell is exposed to a foreign pathogen, it extends a vitamin D receptor, with which it searches for vitamin D

If there is an inadequate vitamin D level,

they won't even begin to mobilize

My wife and I have taken 5000IU per day for 3 years. My 9 month old has been given vit D each morning since he was born. Because of mandatory testing at my wife's work, we found out she was positive 2 weeks ago. We all got tested and were all positive. The ONLY symptom any of us had was I lost my smell. Otherwise we would have never known we had it. Zero symptoms otherwise. Thank the lord, were all perfectly fine. God bless, John. Your info is saving lives.

I've been taking Vit D for several years, and since this spring I've had my husband take it as well (and told others about it) due to your touting of Vit. D. Thanks for providing all your info.

Didn’t realise that one of the signs of low vitamin D is lower back pain. Have been taking vitamin D in a higher dose now for a couple of weeks and my lower back pain has virtually disappeared after a decade from when I had the worst bout of flu ever. It seems the drug companies don’t want you to know the benefits of vitamin D, otherwise a lot their products would not be needed or is that being overly cynical? Thank you for your informative presentations.

Well done on this video John. People should do their.own research and not rely on main stream media. It might just save their life
  • @passiflora1014
That’s probably why my 95 year old family member was a symptomatic she’s been taking 1000 every day for many many years 😻😻😻😻😻💃🏻

… there may be no money in this, but there is money to be saved.

I quite like how you refer to "us" talking about things ,"us" learning , "you & me" being here. Reinforces the community that you have built here, thank you Dr. John . Stay well all :)

The 50% to 2% reduction in ICU admission doesn't just signify effectiveness its tantamount to a cure !!
  • Many thanks, Doc. Pity this update on Vit D isn't aired on MSM everywhere. It should be. Sad people were not advised by their leaders and health "experts" from the very beginning of this crisis to take such a simple, basic, inexpensive essential. The planet sure needs people like you -- those who so easily reinforce one's faith in humanity. Appreciate your efforts. Continue to keep well and safe.

Vitamin D3 is commonly low in Cancer patients. My Integrative physician tested me and prescribed it. My Oncologist and my Surgeon then said, yeah that is helpful. So I came away feeling the doctors know, but only the Integrative physicians assess one’s overall health, while the specialists stay in the narrow zone of their medical billing codes (in USA).

My husband and I are taking vitamin D in addition to Zinc and Vit C. Stay healthy and thank you!

I try and tell customers at my job about the importance of vitamin D everyday! Great video :)

I started taking 2000 IU of Vitamin D when I saw one of your clips at the beginning of the summer. I have spent a lot of time outdoors this summer. I walk / run about 10k every day. Eat fairly healthily. Don’t drink or smoke. Had a blood sample taken. The doctor said I was on the verge of having a slight Vit D deficit, but still within the ok range. He said, you don’t need to take any supplements. I said to him: I already do. I will increase it to 5000 IU now that autumn is here and I live far up north. Thanks for educating us.
  • Dear Doctor John, I have been watching you since I was in self-isolation in March. Lots of time on my hands to look at sensible sources of advice, and I think I can spot that rather than lizard conspiracy notions. Or even that it is a mild flu ... A friend of mine died of its in April in our local cottage hospital. One of 127 deaths in Herefordshire so far, but then we are blessed with mostly sensible people, who mostly follow the rules ... I started Vit D [Boots, standard tablets of 10 micro-grams - 90 in the container] a fortnight ago. Last week I had the return of a nearly sixty year problem: An unstoppable nose-bleed. That went on for three quarters of an hour and cost half a toilet roll. I had actually started to panic. Home alone as it were ... After I had staunched it, I rang my GP, but of course actually did not speak to my actual Doc, but did speak to a very nice lady Doc, who asked if I was on any medication. [Obviously my notes were not in front of her]. I said that I tend to avoid any medicines, unless prescribed, but had started Vit D. She was absolutely delighted. No risk and all benefit. She told me not to exceed the stated dose, which I am not, so 10 micro-grams per day. She did prescribe a topical antibiotic for my nose, but twice it created a new bleed, so I stopped. My nose has no infection, just an inherent six decade weakness. Sorry to ramble, and there is a lot of stuff in the air work wise, so no doubt that I am actually a bit run-down from stress and poor sleep. My nose-bleeds have always come in times of extreme hot weather or when run down. I cannot adequately express my thanks for your videos. I have no answers, but then I have no useful opinion on how serous this is. No doubt, by next Easter, I shall have a clear vision, but I do suspect that it might turn very ugly this winter for many people. Best wishes from George [who has a YouTube channel if you want to contact me].

I'm in the medical field (and a biracial American woman) and I'm ashamed of how long it took me to really focus on the benefits of vitamin D (my MIL is in northern US and she's white, her doctor started checking her vitamin D levels 10 years ago) for my Pedi patients. I'm in the southern US and relatively light skinned (from low sun exposure; I CAN get pretty dark on summer vacations, but that's rare for me.)--my doctors didn't start the conversation with me, I initiated the vit D discussion a few years back. I WAS low! I need to actively seek out CME for Vit D and my specialty.
  • Vitamin D plays a significant role in the regulation of calcium and maintenance of phosphorus levels in the blood. These factors are vital for maintaining healthy bones. People need vitamin D to allow the intestines to stimulate and absorb calcium and reclaim calcium that the kidneys would otherwise excrete.👍

I love your persistent dedication to the truth. Thank you Dr Campbell. I and my family and some friends and relatives are now taking 4000iu of vitamin D per day because of your persistence in defining the best course of action for all people. Thank you very much.
