Iran, Hezbollah, Houthis vow to retaliate against Israel after Hamas leader killed in Tehran

Though it is unclear who killed the 61-year-old, Hamas has pointed its fingers at Israel, saying it was the result of “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence.”
This comes the morning after an Israeli airstrike in Beirut killed a top commander in the Lebanese Hezbollah group — an ally of Hamas. Haniyeh’s killing has not only elicited response from Lebanon, but Yemen’s Houthi rebels, too.
“[Hostage exchange] negotiations [between Israel and Hamas] were led by the martyr Ismail Haniyeh, so [Israel] killed the one negotiating,” Deputy Chairman of the Houthis Media Authority Nasr al-Din Amer told reporters on Wednesday. “[Israel is] facing a wave of retaliations that will be large, painful and harsh, God willing, and that will change the equation in the battle in Gaza,” he added.

This was not a self defense situation for Iran. Hamas committed acts of war, and in fact, has been at war with the State of Israel. Iran is NOT a neutral party under the rules governing warfare, and so should not complain. Israel has exerted great restraint and has no quarrel with the PEOPLE of Iran.
