I am a lazy gardener. Years ago I used the bags that the dirt comes in open them up in my raised beds and planted directly into them. Over the next few years , I added dirt on top and increase the dirt, plants, etc. It helped keep the weeds in tow and made new weeds easier to remove. I found in my area it worked better than the cardboard, which I used in the flowering gardens. Eventually, I could remove the old plastic from underneath. I can actually weed from my lower lawn chair 😊 or the raised garden edge.

My dad died yesterday and I find watching the drone shots very peaceful, the land around your chateaux is stunning, we’re travelling around Normandy, Brittany, Loire soon, can’t wait for a long needed break. I lived in Plomeur for a short time many years ago and I know how beautiful La Torche is, if you’ve not been there you should visit.

Get the kids out there to help. I had a full time job and they helped me for free and felt good about it. They all had favorite jobs so they figured it out themselves. They spent maybe 3-5 hours a week each. What a godsend.
