he may not have carried the torch for long, but he certainly held it high

Robert Johnson would have listened to this and said, "Damn boy! You sold it too??"
  • I lived in Austin during the 80's. He performed at all the clubs. It was greatest years in the Austin music scene....hands down. And he did sleep in the bars.....on the pool table.

Anybody can make a guitar sing but Stevie can make it talk~~BB King.

I looked at my guitar in the corner, I swear I heard it say, don’t even think about it!

You know how these legends got this good? They did stuff like this all day, everyday.

Just "discovered" Stevie. Never really paid attention to him. Was not on my favorite guitarists list. Now he is. Man, was I dumb.

This is hands-down the best acoustic jam session ever
  • @bekulica
This is the best blues on an acoustic guitar i've ever heard

The way he strums so smooth it looks like hes literally painting the song.

Every fingering and plucking is so perfectly precise with his playing. Just unreal.

still years after he's gone, I'm still amazed at how easy he makes it look.
  • SRV handed this guitar to his interviewer after this solo and the poor guy got a 2nd degree burn on his palm.
  • That poor old guitar. Near the end of its life, been taking it easy for decades, and along comes Stevie making it work harder than at any other time in its life!

We are not worthy of this talent. God is. This is why Madonna is still with us.
  • @catwrench3
That guy was channeled from a different universe and a different dimension, just like Hendrix was. I feel very fortunate that he shared so much of himself with us while he was here.
  • @mrbrianc
Guitar needed a cigarette after this
  • @Ewen6177
He wasn't rich, he wasn't poor. But by holy God he was talented.

I’ve never seen anyone attack an acoustic guitar like this man! It’s absolutely mental what he’s doing here with a flat pick. His loss to music is such a sad tale, esp given that he seemed such a nice bloke.
