Sims 2 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 - Wedding

Sims 2
In The Sims 2, Engaged Sims can throw wedding party, and celebrate their love with their friends and family. the wedding party can only be hosted on your home lot. When the guests have arrived, your Sims should get married right away under a wedding arch. This way, more Sims will come to watch the wedding ceremony. If Sims have high relationship, everything should go smoothly. For a proper wedding celebration, the newlyweds can cut their wedding cake. they will cut a piece of cake and feed their significant other with a fork, or by shoving a piece of cake in their face. You can also buy a champagne to celebrate and give a proper toast to the newlyweds.
Making sure everyone's needs are met, you should definitely have a buffet table. This way more Sims will sit down to eat and chat with the other guests, affecting the wedding party score.

To have a great party make sure to have fun, you can place a photo booth and capture this special moment with your spouse and with your friends and family. And of course, there is no party without music and questionable dancing.

Sims 3
In the Sims 3, After Sims are engaged, you can start planning a wedding party. You can throw a wedding party on a residential or a community lot. I always throw a wedding party on the home lot, because otherwise I find it too chaotic.
While planning the wedding party, you can choose the time the party starts, the dress code, and the guest list. You can invite up to 10 Sims. When the guests arrive, make sure you get married right away. Most of them will automatically find a seat to watch the ceremony, but not everyone will remain seated. Some guests will throw rose petals and some will give the newlyweds applause. For a proper wedding celebration, the newlyweds can cut the cake. The guests will gather and cheer. For fun, you can place a bubble bar and of course there is no fun without music and dancing.

Sims 4
With The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories, Sims can now plan in detail every part of their special day. Having this pack will replace weddings from the base game.
There are seven types of wedding events in total, each of them having different activities and traditions to choose from. In this video we'll focus on the Wedding Ceremony.
You can bake one, or you can buy a wedding cake from a shop in Taratosa.
If you want to, you can have a maid of honor at your wedding day. You need to ask Sims first. You can have a flower pal. You can have an officiant, and a ring bearer. If you want to, you can also have a wedding bouquet. You can make one, or purchase one from a shop in Taratosa.

When the guests have arrived, you can ask them to take their seats. With The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories, you'll have to micromanage every detail. Some players like that, some don't.
after everyone is seated, I always send the Bride and groom last. You can also choose how you would like to exchange the Vows. You can also ask Sims to throw rice. You have to ask guests to gather around for the first dance. You can ask the bride and groom to cut the cake, then instruct them again to feed each other. Sims can also gather around for toast.
Make sure there is enough food for everyone and have fun.

the sims 2 damaged wedding cutscene is so fucking hilarious

In Sims 2 the invitees sit for the wedding without issue and stay in their formal attire, why can't it be like that for the Sims 4?

Is it just me or sims in 4 actually acting like bots? While in the previous games they were moving, speaking, and communicating with the world around them very smoothly, but in sims 4 there’s always a small waiting time for each action and each communication feels the same and unrealistic, while also being very chaotic? Like the game breaks the immersion…

The sims 2 wedding was the best. I love the tip about locking up the household and putting stalls outside. The dinner and dancing was the cutest

The Sims 3 is so chaotic LOL I think it wins this time, just for being able to pick when and where to have the party. The Sims 4 loses because My Wedding Stories lololol Great concept, but the execution.....
  • Guests: Boo!! Suzan, you're not wearing formalwear. Suzan:(yawn)Your boos fuel me

Mrs. Crumplebottom: "Seriously? Right in front of my salad?"

The sims 2 was more emotional especially with the cutscenes. Same with sims 3 the actions actually mattered. With sims 4 they’d be mad but then would be fine 10 mins later 😂
  • Sims 4 typical gameplay is unless you work to force every single interaction and pretend it's fun and nothing happens spontaneously and act like they could care less, about anything. Always married with ceremony in TS2. TS3 was ok and even if you were at the park or beach and decided to get married on the spot, whoever was there would come over spontaneously to watch and clap so that was fun without making a big deal. With TS4 I just elope immediately and get it over with then send on honeymoon .

It’s so obvious when comparing how QUIET TS4 worlds are… the sims are just silent at the wedding in comparison to 2&3

The Sims 2 has just what it takes, I love it! The Sims 3 was chaotic and short. The Sims 4 has too many options, I missed it haha

Sims 2 has the most beautiful weddings. The guests are more engaged and focused on the bride and groom, as should be for a wedding. Just like you suggested for Sims 3, you can also have karaoke for Sims 2 or even a DJ Booth (can have that for TS3 too). Prior to TS2:BV (or if you do not have the pack), the limo picking you up, represents a honeymoon (that happens offscreen). However, if you have TS2:BV, you can actually book your honeymoon at any of the 3 vacation destinations. Also, there is a mod that allows you to place the wedding arch on any community lot (you can even build wedding chapels). So, you can technically have wedding parties on community lots (although, they do not count as wedding parties), and you can use the group outing to have up to 8 guests, or use a mod to teleport guests, or both. If you own the community lot, you can even charge guests, while in attendance. I also do love the wedding process with TS3:G, asking a parent for hand in marriage, the bachelor/bachelorette parties. The actual weddings can be a bit chaotic, especially when at certain venues. In theory, TS4 should be on top, as it has its own dedicated pack, filled with extras. However, you have to micromanage every detail, and still it does not go as planned (from what I see). What is with the overdramatic crying from the groom and guests? And why was the bride the only one dancing on the dancefloor towards the end? I do not own the pack, and likely will never own it, but your wedding success was the best I have seen, and to me it is just meh. One last thing, please do not throw rice at weddings (irl), birds will eat the rice, the rice will expand inside them, and their stomachs will burst open, causing their deaths. 😢
  • Ah, Mrs. Crumplebottom! Always the hater for every type of romantic and flirty actions.
  • @LoleexRU
Micromanaging the wedding in the Sims 4 seems like it would take all Sim-day to have the event! 🎉
