A quick look at the 2024 MCN London Motorcycle Show. I was helping out at the IAM Roadsmart exhibit and wanted to show some of the other charities exhibiting at the show. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to step away from the booth for long enough, so I failed in my intention. Instead, here's a quick look at what you can see at the show. Let me know what you think of the MCN Motorcycle shows.

Not quite the video I hoped I would make when I set off...
  • @UncleRed
Think I've been London show three times. I remember the first had stunt riders and some other demos in the middle of one of the halls... But it's been underwhelming since. Great to have you volunteering! 👍 Hope these shows will pick up again with more stuff to marvel at. (and space!)

Nice work AV. Another underwhelming show but I still enjoyed having a wander. I enjoyed some looking at the old classics from the early 20th century
  • Well Noob you're intentions were good and you did present us with a glimpse of what was on offer. If you'd have been going round that roundabout a car would have shot out in front of you. Since you were keen to make progress despite the roundabout being clear you met one waiting for a bus 😂

Nice to my university at the beginning of the video, haven’t been there in ages, I got taken out on my Fazer once on that Cyprus roundabout 😂 Glad to hear you were busy on the IAM stand ☺️ Disappointing to hear the show wasn’t as good as it was a few years ago. Glad you had a good day nonetheless mate, take it easy 🤜🤛

The video didn’t come out like you expected, but we got to hear a bit about your thoughts on the show!! Singer of the bikes you showed at the end were very cool!!!

Perhaps all the social outlets for manufacturers and Motovloggers has taken a bit of the shine off motorcycle shows. Motorcycle shows are a bit difficult around my neck off the woods so they are still very appealing.
  • The ride matters the most. Even though the show was a bit disappointing, you ride there and that counts. I enjoyed. Got my full watch bro. :) Drop by when have time.
  • I went to the NEC in November and enjoyed the show. I saw the bikes and people I wanted to see, signed up for a Norton test ride (nothing heard since!) and got a couple of bargains. I have never been to the London show but I used to have a program from the 1953 show and it was huge... a massively fat magazine. Shows are smaller these days, manufacturers launch on line and through their dealers, they are just not what they were in the past. That's not a criticism just an observation. I'm off to one f the Classic Shows, the one in Shepton Mallet later this month, that's usually a good day out too.

Gutted I couldn't attend, just got my new motorcycle delivered 🥺🥺
  • I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to make the trip. Glad I didn't. Thanks for the video.

I'm quiet glad we didn't make the journey south. The last time I rode to the London show was possibly the worst journey ever. Just happened that I parked in the hall right next to a guy on a GS who turned out to be the Missenden Flyer. I think manufacturers are seeing less value from exhibiting at these costly shows, so less attend. Well done for volunteering for the stand. Cheers

Video fail, but still enjoyable. I never have taken much interest in shows, along way to go for stuff I can see down the road.

A few mates and I came up from Cornwall by train for one of the firsts NEC bike shows, snapped up £20 a night amazing-bargain rooms at the docklands hilton, did the show saturday and and spent the sunday racing round Canary Wharf on rented 50cc twist and go scooters and taking photos 👿 Amazing how quiet the area was at weekends. Out f the five of us two came back with flu, one with a broken arm, and one with a leather hat. Malcolm who bought leather hat for £60 was the real victim 😂

I don't go to any of the bike shows any more tbh. I did go to the NEC a couple of years ago but now they are just too expensive with too little on show to be of much interest. Some manufacturers seem to be staying away which shows that they see no value in them now and I think that because there are less exhibitors then the organisers are putting more cost onto the public.
  • @jfro5867
Went to the NEC quite a few times, but a long time ago, maybe even 20 years now. They hold no interest anymore. The internet, YouTube etc has taken over. Bit like cassette tapes they are obsolete.
  • @fastestonearth1
2nd time we went like yesterday past year we went too sadly not any more thought the bike show was lacking in the top players and round the edges of the show were much more clothing etc was done in hour or so £27 per ticket plus parking just not worth it 🤔
  • @mrsilbo6499
Too many manufacturers stay away, so the organisers have to pad out the show with celebrity interviews, none of which hold any interest for me. This, with the fact that the Excel is a complete @rse to get to means I don't bother to go any more.
