Crazy how many talented Asian women involved in music these days. And not just lightweight "pop" songs, real rock, real metal! Long may it continue!

You can see Rolling Quartz perform SRV's "Scuttlebuttin", featuring the red-haired guitarist Iree in several performances including one from Dallas, TX in 2023!

I saw them live in London earlier this year, they were really good, lots of energy and they played a good mix of their own excellent MVs (Fearless, Azalea, Holler, Sing Your Heart Out, Blaze, etc.) and covers of songs by Metallica, White Stripes, Accept(Metal Heart), Nirvana, Lady GaGa, etc. They were very professional and great fun to watch. For another great live performance check out ‘Rock & Roll Paradise with drum solo’. Thanks for reviewing them.

I love this band. Jayoung has a great voice for Rock & Roll. So do yourself a favour & react to "Rock & Roll Paradise" from the same show. You will also see a great bit of guitar play by Jayoung. It will make you smile for sure.

tl;dr This is a great band, please do more 😊 Thanks for checking out Rolling Quartz. The band consists of lead vocalist/keyboardist JaYoung, guitarists Iree and Hyunjung, bassist Arem and drummer Yeong Eun. My initial reaction upon discovering them a couple years ago was similar to Jimmy's: good, great hair, but with a tinge of "meh". That completely changed after seeing them live at a hot sweaty sold-out club in Seattle. They are absolutely the real deal, and I am now a proud Diadem for life. I listened to an interview with their manager in which he said they could go harder for sure, but they are deliberately keeping one foot in the pop side to appeal to a wider fanbase, since k-pop is such juggernaut in Korea. On 7/14/24 at 1 pm KST they are doing a livestream on their YT channel to celebrate dropping their new EP. I love these ladies with all my heart. Please check out more of their music! In general, K-rock hits a little different than J-rock but is just as rewarding to me. It tends to be a bit more focused on feeling and melody over relentless heaviness. If you want to continue, look into bands like Walking After U, Touched, DIH (sadly, currently on hiatus), Danggisio, Guckkasten, Fishingirls, Yudabinband, Adios Audio, Vincit and YB. Touched lead singer Jo Yunmin recently finished a historic run on King of Masked Singer that's well worth seeking out on your own, just to bask in her amazing vocal ability.

RQ is streaming a free online concert on Saturday night (US time) 7/13/24. Korean time is 7/14/24 at 1:00 PM. They have done this a few times and it is always pure joy to watch. They have an English translator and usually Spanish as well. Hope to see you then in the chat.
  • Singer has a great voice they don't have as many songs as BAND-MAID but they are still one of my favourite bands.
  • @moscatodasti1
Knowing great music is half the battle, the rest is 25% blue lasers and 25% red lasers. Stand Up and Victory are also great songs. Camera's love the drummer.

Great reaction Jimmy and Gringa! Love Rolling Quartz - they're a great K-Rock 🎸 band. Here are a few of my favourite RQ 💎 songs that have a Music Video. You've done "Fearless" Live, but you've missed a bit as the MV for it is excellent. For your next RQ 💎 reaction I'd suggest the latest single, the MV "Victory" - it rocks! * [MV] "Blaze" (their 2020 debut single) * [MV] "Azalea" by Rolling Quartz (ENG Subtitles) * [MV] "Fearless" by Rolling Quartz (3rd Single) * [MV] "Stand Up" by Rolling Quartz (4th Single) * [MV] "Victory" by Rolling Quartz (New/5th Single) * [MV] "Delight" by Rolling Quartz * [MV] "Holler" by Rolling Quartz * [MV] "Reminiscence" by Rolling Quartz (cover song, great ballad) * "Rock'n'roll Paradise and Drum Solo" (Official Live Video) * "Zitti E Buoni" - Måneskin Cover by Rolling Quartz (HOT ver.) * [MV] "Good Night" (Dreamcatcher) by Rolling Quartz * [MV] "Sing Your Heart Out" by Rolling Quartz * My Chemical Romance - "Helena" Cover by Rolling Quartz * "Youth Gone Wild" (Skid Row) by Rolling Quartz (Color Live) .

There is a video on their page of Iree playing Scuttle Buttin by SRV
  • @kevinbowland4686
Very cool band. One of the few Asiam bands that play up the "sex appeal" of it's members...and rightfully so.
  • @johnmagill7714
Funny you mention SRV. The do a cover of SRV's Scuttle Butting. Iree, guitar pink hair is phenomenal on it. They got a huge response when they played it in Dallas.

Spent 10 days in Japan last month! Went to see Band Maid/The Warning concert. Stayed 5 days in Kyoto & Tokyo each with day trips to Osaka & Himeji The concert was amazing. Both bands played my fave song & then both bands performed the live debut of their collab for finale! Rolling Quartz is another good all girl group that I got into recently. Wouldn't quite put them up there with those 2 bands, but really talented
