"NEPOTISM can give you work in some movies, but TALENT.... TALENT will make you a superstar."❤

Im glad nepotism is well understood these days. A decade back, the value of individuals was determined by their lineage, bank balance, parent's profession and social status. People were literally worshipped for their lineage. It's refreshing to finally see this conversation happening at this scale.

These star kids are our future Padma award winners. Their parents will hire the best production houses, directors, script writers, song writers, stylists etc. to push their careers. After 20 years, they'll appear in a film with author backed role, with a no makeup look and for their unparalleled contribution to cinema coupled with political contacts, they'll be given a Padma award

There is a big difference between Hollywood and Bollywood when it comes to nepotism. In Hollywood, star kids go under radar when they first enter the industry. Usually starting on small roles and many times you wouldn't know those actors are related to a famous parent until you dig deep into it. In bollywood star kids get the lead roles from get go and there nepotism aspect is used extensively to sell the movie.
  • We talk lot about Nepotism in Bollywood which barely affect our country but we never talk about nepotism exist in our politics and judiciary that directly decide the fate of our country.

People say talent matters. If talent matters then how Arjun Kapoor is getting film opportunities after giving numerous disaster in box office? 😅
  • @15diptisharma
In Bollywood its a lot more evident. People like Mahesh Bhatt engage most aspiring women into sex trade and drug rackets while their own less-than-talented daughters get chances after chances to perfect their craft. I think Indian viewers should make the effort to give deserving kids a chance. If we have now recognized the Gandhi family's nepotism, why not recognize the Bhatts and Kapoors and Johars make billions off of Indian viewers while feeding them absolute garbage.

In all this debates, Mihir Ahuja is getting sidelined. One of my childhood friend from Jamshedpur. Has literally has been trying to get in into something from last 8 years. Has no Movie background and comes from a simple family where his father runs a neighbor Grocery stores. Exceptionally talented in all ways and super Hard Working. Deserves every bit of success !!

It's too easy to say "Talent can beat nepotism" but in reality talent don't even get a chance to show their talent, in fact think it another way its not just nepotism, its monopoly or oligopoly with nepotism which stops other players to even show their talents in big platforms.

Mamata Banerjee benefiting the real estate, wealth accumulation, and political capital of her nephew Abhishek Banerjee is a classic example of nepotism.
  • @DarthV-wy3mj
The problem with Nepotism is Bollywood is that they will be given innumerable chances sidelining real talent and eventually when substandard is thrust down the audience throat they will eventually grow a linking towards mediocrity and real talent suffers. Example; Irfan Khan and many many more.
  • It's true that there is no bad publicity but there is always a good/bad consequences, and particularly now the people are more aware in what to watch and what not.
  • @veenakn6638
If nepotism means talentless mediocrity being celebrate and systematically targeting and sabotaging individuals with talent, its rotten and problematic.
  • @johns3465
In America, my last 3 jobs nepotism is so bad that we had a mass walkout. 80% to 90% of the employees quit 1 company went out of business, another got got sold, and the third lost 4 out of 13 laboratories, including losing clients.
  • Charlie Chaplin was not a nepo kid. His parents were small time artists in vaudeville theatre. They separated when he was a toddler and his mom went insane when he was barely 7 and he hardly attended school. He literally grew up on the streets and landed a part in a play along with his elder brother when he was 11. He struggled very very hard and rose only because of his talent and genius. Those in the above film are certainly nepo kids as they’ve landed a part in the film only bec of their parents
  • In today’s Bollywood, nepotism wins. I’ve just seen the archies which didn’t do anything for me but the two guys who stood out for me are Vedang Raina and Mihir Ahuja. They are the ones to watch out for. But I doubt if they’ll get their due. Vedang is definitely the Hindi movie “hero” material. He’s smart, sassy and has the swag. IMO, Khusi Kapoor is a little better but Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda doesn’t know A of acting! Totally bland and expressionless.

Nepotism in Bollywood seems different. Most of the star kids are a poor excuse for actors 😂
  • @deepthijose2169
Neither people nor the media who cry foul over nepotism seem to get enough of the star kids. The industry alone is not responsible.
