Did update 12.1 tip the scales for anyone? Curious to know what you think of this update!

Undo History is a VERY UNDERRATED add on for this update. Very very pleased with all the new features added. I could see Drum Sampler becoming the new Simpler in a few years when 13 is released.

A fair amount of these new features are also available for Push 2! Huge update for Ableton Gang. Very excited!

12.1 is huge! I'm really excited about the Push 3 standalone updates - it was already an amazing machine, but I agree with you - there were definitely some features missing at launch. Macro mapping from the device is implemented really well I think, and the idea of now being able to have a proper sound design workflow from standalone is appealing to me. It's becoming clear that over time Push 3 is going to become something of a dream production device for many people. Despite having its flaws and initial bugs, it's already been a dream standalone device for me personally since day one. Great video man, love your work

glad u finally did it! 🔥 it’s always nice to hear your input man

Thanks, not the first video of this i've seen, but the most informative and useful!

I bought an MPC Live 2 a few years ago because there wasn't a Push standalone out yet. When Push 3 launched my ultimate mobile DAW-in-a-box dream still didn't materialize because I realized that this was pretty much a Gen 1 product for Ableton that needed a lot more cooking. Skip fwd a year later and I have come to realize that Akai's philosophy of starting with a hardware groovebox and turning it more into a DAW-in-a-box over time might actually turn out to be a better route vs Ableton starting out as a DAW and then increasingly implementing its functionality into the Push 3 hardware. The Push 3 workflow for making a beat in standalone simply isn't as fast and immediate vs the MPC. And this update isn't going to change that. The MPC on the other hand is going to see a huge firmware update (in beta atm) that will make it behave even more like a DAW, adding linear arrangement and getting rid of legacy workflow quirks that made it unnecessarily complex to use. So as a mobile standalone production machine, the Push 3 might never be for me. As a live performing device or Ableton controller however, it's a different story.

I’m not even a music creator and I’m here watching all your videos 😅
  • @JJ1NE
That selection on launch was killing me! So glad they fixed it. Hopefully it’s an update on push 2.
  • Macro Variations are awesome and the ability to save and also jam these on the pads is great

I have live 12 and I can def say I want to wait it out for the full release because of the bugs and the saves issues. I can’t wait ngl

Great video buddy and it’s awesome to see what they did to the Push 3. 💜
  • @prodjcfr
holy god, the midi feature for auto shift will be insane, so much vocal chops potential
  • @MrFullyCharged
From the start, I wanted the macros features on Maschine Plus, as well as a few other things. This is really great to see the Push moving in that direction for live performance. The thing that convinced me to purchase the standalone upgrade kit this week was actually the Arturia X8 OUT Adat expander for $299. NOW my push standalone alllows full stem remixing on my DJM V10 with only a tiny box and a small price tag. The updates in 12.1 are just icing on the cake 🎉❤
  • @azimpradhan
Great content, thank you for sharing. I was hoping there would be a section in your video about third party VSTs being available in standalone. Until this happens, I am happy with using Push 2 with my laptop.
  • @thecalver
Finally usable! I found the omissions so annoying I couldn’t maintain focus 🎉
