I've been an Inner Child Healer for 15 years. I'm glad it's now coming to the forefront that we need to feel in order to heal. It doesn't really happen in the 'head'.
  • Remember, tough times don't last, but tough people do. You are stronger than you think, and you will get through this. Keep faith in yourself and the higher power, and know that everything happens for a reason. Stay positive, stay focused, and keep moving forward. You got this!🦋🦋🦋

The author of The Body Keeps the Score is Bessel van der Kolk. Amazing book indeed!

What I find exquisite about Lee is his exceptional ability to elucidate and clearly / consistently articulate the experience of bridging worlds. No one taught us how to be a human upon emerging onto the Stage of Life. No official script or user manual was offered to guide us, other than that which has been passed down by our predecessors and ancestors - for better or worse. Lee is a gifted communicator - a liason extraordinaire between the realms of physical and spiritual. Thank you Z's for communicating through Lee, so thoroughLee :-) :thanksdoc:
  • to all who read this, and all who don't...sending you infinite peace, perfect health, abundant wealth, joyous freedom, and unconditional love... 🙏🏽💜💜💜💜💜🙌🏽
  • Each day we are evolving through new awareness within forgiveness, kindness and compassion. We are letting go of ego and old programs and traumas. The layers are clearing as we choose our heart-centered Consciousness and released our shadows. The body is key. Thank you Lee and Z’s for focusing on the body and trauma, because as the layers are peeled away from the body, then we connect to our Soul, to Joy, to conscious Self-Care, to Creative Expression and Spiritual Peace, and we released the past: fear, anxiety, depression, addiction distraction behaviors. Cheers to everyone as we move through our personal evolution and find our joy in connection with the Cosmic Consciousness.❤
  • Very resonant, my main focus right now is releasing and detoxing intergenerational trauma energy from the body. This is where the power is and where its coming from. The transmutation of energy is an embodied experience. Don't be deceived. 🙏✝️🍄🌎

Thank you for addressing this! I am also thankful to Gabor Mate for popularizing notions of body-based (somatic) clearing and the pervasive and deleterious effects of trauma throughout our wider culture overall. In addition to all the other great suggestions listed below, I have found Irene Lyon's Smart Body Smart Mind program to be an immensely powerful and flexible method for restoring nervous system balance, it is based on Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing, as well as Kathy Kaine and Moshe Feldenkrais' work.

I have always struggled to be in my body to the point that I don't even know how to be in my body.

Yes! Irene Lyon’s work, that combines somatic work with polyvagal theory, got my autonomic nervous system/body out of a lifelong functional freeze state. I came into my body for what felt like the first time in my 35 years on earth.
  • As someone with CPSTD I always wonder what it means when so many trauma discussions are happening, though it’s widely not known about within my own family even. I appreciate this talk.

Another book, "My Grandmother's Hands" by Resmaa Menaken. Beautiful book about generational trauma, hownit impacts our body, and so much more.
  • I relate to everything you say! I am practicing as an osteopath- now i offer a bodyexperience to release trauma from the body- all we need is a safe space ro experience the stored sensations we stored - to realise everything is ok- and....its maybe a prozess- but Life with our body and all senses is a pleasure- and if we include the the spirit its feeling complete AND oriented in the situation where you are right now

Thank you so much for sharing this interesting perspective that many spiritual practitioners often ignore. I used to have a lot of unprocessed trauma in my body, and this would manifest as extreme anxiety. With the regular practice of yoga, I was able to slowly transmute that energy, and bring myself back into balance. Although I enjoy my episodes with connecting with spirit, I also learned to love being in my body, accept and love myself in my current form, and to use exercise and movement as a vehicle to center and ground my energy. I truly believe that without incorporating the body, true transformation is not permanent, because as you said, the body remembers, so it is imperative that we heal our bodies.
