Snatching the carpet off the "elephant in the room". Depression, PTSD, and other mental illnesses have plagued MILLIONS of people who hide in the shadows of their pain and suffering. They (we) suffer in silence because we are surrounded by loved ones who do not understand the depth of the daily life of trying to survive it.
We are constantly weighed down by stigma and constraints placed upon us by the Church, loved ones, and society. Some will "get" this poem and some won't but... it's truly NOT about them. This is for me and ANYONE else who is suffering in silence.
My illness does not define me. It doesn't take away my gifts and talents. Nor does it silence my voice. #WhoWillSpeak #IWill #TruthTransformsMe

*Proverbs 11:25 (KJV)
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that
watereth shall be watered also himself.
