Clara Lieu was an Adjunct Professor at the Rhode Island School of Design from 2007-2020. Her artwork has been exhibited at the International Print Center NY, the Currier Museum, Childs Gallery, the Davis Museum, and more. Lieu received an artist fellowship from the MA Cultural Council, has written for the NY Times, and lectured at Brown University, the NAEA conference, and in Vancouver & China. This is so inspiring. I’ve been pretty frustrated with my art recently since all I seem to be able to draw are things that are assigned in class. Nothing on my own terms. I'm still just flabbergasted every time I watch this and her scratch board video. I had to follow her on Instagram. For as busy as her work looks, there is a sense of serenity of it due to the excercise of the mediums. It's simply phenomenal. I could look at them all day long and get lost in them. This video inspired me and I'm going to give this process a shot. I'll have to share what comes of it in discord.

What a coincidence. I revived my pen and ink drawing recently, going from abstract designs to a more realistic one today that I am happy with. I loved the techniques in this video and will give them a try. Thank you. A great tutorial.

This was so amazing. I absolutely love using both ink and graphite. Ive tried using them together and it always comes out muddy, like what Mrs. Lieu said. I have matte medium in my closet and am looking forward to practicing this technique in my sketchbook! Thank you Ms.Kang!!!
