I do think it's a neat note in the Commissar Cain novels that alot of people call every law enforcer an arbites until they run into an actual arbites officer.
  • "Don't you need a warrant to enter here?" "I am the warrant, civilian, now here is your 5000 throne fine for questioning an Arbitrator."
  • @mnbvcxz486
Compliance will increase your odds of survival by 0.7%! Truly, the Emperor's servants are merciful to a fault.
  • @thetruth4116
Just imagine after a long day slaving away in a manufactorium you hear a knock on your door, open it and discover a hulking Arbites standing there who calmly informs you of your guilt regarding being the great grandson of some long dead heretic before emptying the barrels of his shotgun into your face before you can even figure out what by the Emperor's golden balls he is even talking about. I love 40K.😂
  • @WarriorVirtue
New theory. Judge Dredd takes place in the 40k universe during the Age of Strife and the Judges were reorganized into the Arbites after the Emperor united Terra.
  • @harbl99
The Arbites (aka, the Judges) were in the original 40K Rogue Trader book. Right there next to the unexpectedly swole Administratum clerk, changed just enough from Mega-City One Judges to be distinct.

"Adeptus Arbities Open Up!" To be clearly and confidently declared by the point officer as the Krak charge blows the door off its hinges -Arbitrator guidance for announcing their presence to a citizen in their hab while serving a routine summons
  • @jondoe5937
To be just, our law must be cruel. Matthew Farrer's Enforcer trilogy is a good read for getting a sense of what the Arbites do, how they're trained, and what their relations typically are with other adeptus orders.

Arch could you do a video on Imperial Commisars. How does their command structure intersect with the Imperial Guard's command structure, what are their official duties & reaches of their authority? How high up the Imperial Guard's command chain can they boss around without an official request from a higher office? What are the circumstances & procedures in which they can take over a regiment? Are there special formations of troops that are officially assembled to carry out their edicts? When can they receive orders from Imperial Guard officers? Etc
  • You could probably avoid breaking a law in the 40K universe by remaining in a dark basement all day. But then the Arbites will charge you with loitering.
  • The Arbites go as far back as the original 1987 Warhammer 40'000 Rogue trader book, their stats were about the same as the space marines but with carapace armour. They deserve more attention than another space marine variant.
  • Arch, you're not bad on your timing. Warhammer Kill Team is getting Arbites Officers on the Imperium faction.
  • @ray101mond
Sometimes I use it as a support beam. -Rogal Dorn in reference to the size of the book of judgment.
  • @tba113
The Judge Dredd influence gets lampshaded in one of the Ciaphas Cain novels. An Arbitrator that Cain is working with to hunt down cult-related smugglers quotes an in-universe fictional character named "Arbitrator Foreboding," the lead of a popular holo series at the time.
  • @Gakido117
I would say you missed out on the 3D Arch, I know it isn't the best thing in the world and mostly gone now. but there was something to be said about how all the blood in the slo mo sections popping out of the screen and the play on depth within the megacity structure was well done. Man I need to watch this again now...
  • @aaron2923
The Arbities are neat and I’m glad they might be getting models soon
  • @Venneroth
The Arbites, giving a whole new meaning to "raid night" since AD 30,000!
  • @Hiihtopipa
The owner of 2000AD and Dredd said he wants a sequel to happen! On lindybeiges channel there is an interview with the man. He also put the myth to end about Urban wanting to keep the helmet on. They made a whole written agreement that the helmet stays on for Dredd the whole movie. 😁
