Washington Monument Tour | DC Must Do | View from the Top of the Monument

On this adventure, we go and explore the Washington Monument in the heart of Washington, D.C. We will take a look at what is inside the monument, and explore the grounds around it.
We begin our trip with a quick ride on the metro to the Smithsonian and take a lovely walk on the National Mall past some of our favorite museums. Once we arrive, our tour begins with an informative yet entertaining speech from a National Park Ranger. Next, we make our way to the lobby and take the elevator all the way to the top, where we are able to see spectacular views of the U.S. Capitol Building, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and the Tidal Basin. Then, we explore the museum that is located inside of the monument and finally take the elevator down with an unexpected surprise!
We end our day exploring the gift shop, which had some amazing souvenirs. If you're planning a visit to Washington, D.C... this is a great budget friendly activity that your entire family will enjoy.

I enjoyed this wonderful video! I lived in Northern Virgnia for 8 years, and was always fascinated with Washington, DC. I visited many great places in DC and the surrounding area while living there. I actually stood outside the Washington Monument, took many pictures of it, and now I regret not going inside for a trip to the top. What an incredible opportunity I missed! I'm living back home in Missouri now, but watching your video brings back so many special memories. Great music too! Thank you!

I enjoyed the video! We visited DC this summer and walked all over the mall to see the monuments. We didn't get to tour the Washington Monument though so it was nice to see what we missed. I hope to go back someday! Is that the National Christmas tree in the Elipse?
