From a working musician’s point of views, we joke that this is what we really get paid for. The rehearsals, the drive to the gig, the load in, the setup, the sound check, the waiting around to perform for hours… then the tear down. The actual playing is just the payoff, and what we love to do and would probably do for free. However, the $$ requested and paid shows respect for the process and the art itself to perform.
