I embarked on the journey to turn our abandoned land into a green haven, building my own home, living off grid and becoming self-sufficient in terms of food and energy. The goal for these first years was to create a place more in balance with planet earth, to grow my own food and life a more self sufficient life ๐Ÿ’›๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒธ

No way did you fail - oh my goodness you run 10k !! Whatโ€™s 36 seconds? Itโ€™s certainly not something that makes you failโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜Š well done it was an inspiring run. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
  • You did NOT fail!! Oh my goodness, i found myself tearing up as you crossed the finish line. Your husband is so sweet and supportive. Congratulations on your accomplishments ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ‡!!!!

I'm not an expert, but I noticed that your running pattern was based on a heel landing, which is bad for the knees. It would be better to convert to a running pattern with smaller steps and a forefoot landing. I myself have had knee problems in the past with a heel landing pattern and they disappeared when I changed my running pattern to a forefoot landing. Congratulations on the race! don't be sad about the time, the important thing is to finish the race and have fun doing it. Cheers!

This is such a great episode! Iโ€™ve been following you for years and this is one of my faves. As a long distance runner of 2 NY Marathons (1 in sandals) and dozens of half-marathons, I could relate to many of the struggles you had. I agree, if you took some nutrition at around the 30-minute mark, maybe a gel or whatever youโ€™ve been training with, that will help tremendously! With the pace, level of training, and heat, the carbs and electrolytes would help restore some of those levels lost. It was also probably amplified with the adrenaline and ur Zone 4-ish heart-rate. Thatโ€™s pretty crazy how far you took it! But youโ€™re intelligent and have lots of good support. Keep working at it, and hydrate well this summer! Itโ€™s especially great since u have a garden full of fresh ingredients packed with hydrating electrolytes and fiber. Ur very well-equipped to go far! ๐ŸŽ‰
  • As a runner myself, you actually did very well considering you also went to the bathroom! ๐Ÿ˜‚ You were very close to your time. Extreme heat really zaps your energy. What helps me in extreme heat is wearing a white, breathable tank top. Just the sports bra is ok but makes you even hotter believe it or not. Also a breathable white mesh hat! It does wonders keeping the sun off your face which makes you feel A LOT cooler. Try that clothing next time! And congrats! ๐ŸŽ‰ You seriously did excellent.
