I am reading "Mere Christianity" right now as part of my journey back to Christ. I must admit it takes some effort to digest....it certainly isnt a "Narnia" story. It is a book you have to take in small sections and think about to truly benefit from, although it is written in an easy going and informal way. Having been a Buddhist for 13 years I was suddenly and unexpectedly struck by the truth contained within the Gospels... "Surprised by Joy" if you like 😊

"The bad dream will be over. It will be morning." I can't wait for morning. I am so tired.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard CS Lewis’ voice before. This is a treat!!! Thank you.

I love the crackling fire, because it's comforting-and thank you for these reminders, one of which is half measures are useless to us

Let God In In the darkest of our hours In the ever changing light Let God’s Love embrace you Let His guidance be your sight Among all the struggling souls On this world and the next Let God’s Grace restore you From all things hexed There is within our being A light that shines forlorn Waiting for the wisdom within us To be nurtured and reborn In every ounce of trouble There’s a clue to who we are Leading onto greatness That’s so near and yet so far I invite the ever present I invite the yet unclear I invite the many masters To stay close and to be near Let’s kick this evolution That we all can feel is naught Not conducive to the outcome For which we have been taught It’s just a fleeting moment It’s coming to that place Where we can all delight In all things that we face Face off bad emotions Kick them firmly out the door Don’t let them keep us bounded To things we want no more Let us prepare the welcome; Realise our sin; Put a smile upon our dial; And Let God In!

The bad dream will be over, it will be morning. That is the hope we have in Christ. What people don’t seem to understand is that, unlike a dream, everything matters. Everything you do, everything that’s ever happened to you, all of it matters. And our God is one who understands it all perfectly. He became flesh in Jesus, experienced hunger, pain, physical weakness. All the ugly parts of humanity were on his shoulders, but so were the best parts. Love, family, friendship. God knows it all. Your choice to follow him is significant. It brings Glory to God because you chose him. Out of all the temptations, selfishness, you chose Him, you chose Right. You take what he gives freely, and are rewarded with a new heart, a new life, and someday a new body. I look forward to the day when the scars of my past will be gone, where my pain feels like a bad dream. In Christ we have hope for a better life, the way we are meant to be. Stay strong ❤️

I was left wanting more. The part about an egg trying to fly made me LOL out loud ;). But that nails my attitude of trying to keep myself and add in a little of Jesus. I cant stay the same and change at the same time.

”For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 When you receive a gift someone do you pay for it or was it freely given to you? When we receive the Holy Spirit, good works will naturally flow out of you from a heart of love, compassion, and gratitude, and have nothing to do toward earning one’s salvation, for you salvation was all 100% bought and paid for in Christ’s work on the cross. God bless.

It’s wonderful to listen to CS Lewis , he helps us all , he is very giving of his own ideas that he has formulated over many years; and in such an easy to understand language. Thank you very much for sharing this 🙏

"Letting that stronger, quieter life come flowing in." This is what pursuing wisdom has always felt like to me, and it's something I have to remind myself to do every few months when the chaos starts piling up. Pursuing wisdom is not exciting, but it creates peace and strength.
